Crystal Palace vs Burnley Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Crystal Palace were able to snatch a goalless draw at Old Trafford to arrest a run of three consecutive losses. Despite being a goalless draw, there were opportunities for Palace and the brilliance of David de Gea was the only reason for Hodgson’s men returning with just a point. The pressure from manager Sean Dyche increased as Burnley lost 2-1 against Newcastle at home. Two early goals – a deflection off Ben Mee and a Ciaran Clark goal from a corner – led to the Magpies opening a significant lead. Even though Sam Vokes’ goal just before half-time provided hope for the hosts, there was not to be a comeback.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Burnley have picked up a victory at Selhurst Park only in recent times, but they enter into this match with a very poor run of form that has seen them to register only one point from the last 15. Crystal Palace have been unable to score from open play at Selhurst Park, but they have come up with some decent offensive performances of late. I would go with a victory for Palace.

This is a game between two teams that have struggled for goals quite a lot this season. Despite playing at home, Palace have gone through a horrendous goalless run. The two penalties against Arsenal have been the only joy for Palace supporters at home this season. Burnley are also poor on goals and under 2.5 goals in total is a good choice in the game.

Crystal Palace Preview

Crystal Palace are winless in eight games across all competitions and the extended run of poor form is starting to show on Roy Hodgson. The former England manager has been a frustrated figure on the Crystal Palace sidelines, as the club has been involved in a couple of decent performances without actually getting results. There were several positives for Palace in the draw with Manchester United, as Hodgson will look to build on the performances of Mamadou Sakho amongst others. Andros Townsend and Wilfried Zaha have been key performers for Palace in the offensive end of the pitch, but they have contributed just four goals combined.

Crystal Palace Team News

Christian Benteke (knee) is the only player on the sidelines for Crystal Palace.

Burnley Preview

Burnley have every reason to fear at the possibility of dropping into the bottom three, as the club have gone through an extended run of poor form this season. Apart from the small window that they picked up wins over Bournemouth and Cardiff, Burnley have been very poor this season. Manager Sean Dyche will be heavily looking forward to the return of Gudmundsson, who has been Burnley’s best player this season by a huge margin. However, he has been out injured since the last international break. Sam Vokes is the new top scorer at Burnley after scoring his third goal of the campaign against Newcastle.

Burnley Team News

Nick Pope (dislocated shoulder), Stephen Ward (knee), James Tarkowski (hernia), and Johann Berg Gudmundsson (calf) are unavailable for Burnley.
