Crystal Palace vs Brighton & Hove Albion Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Crystal Palace were held to a 2-2 draw by Bournemouth after a dramatic late equaliser. Luka Milivojevic continued his outstanding form by scoring just after the break, but the Cherries were level in the 65th minute through Lys Mousset. Wilfried Zaha was able to restore Palace’s advantage in the 75th minute, but Roy Hodgson’s team were broken down in the 89th minute by Josh King. Brighton went four matches without a win after a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town. An own goal from Jonas Lossl provided a lead for Brighton, but the lead lasted only three minutes as Steve Mounie equalised for Huddersfield. Davy Propper was sent off in the second half with a straight red card.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Brighton have lost the momentum after opening up a substantial advantage over the relegation zone, but the situation is quite desperate for Palace. Roy Hodgson’s men may sit outside the bottom three, but a number of six-pointers in the last few games have the potential to change their campaign. Palace have picked up just one home in in the last decade of games against Brighton. There have been three draws in the last five away games of Brighton. I would back a stalemate in this game.

None of the Brighton players have been unable to score in their last four matches, but I suspect that they would get much better opportunities in front of goal against Crystal Palace. Roy Hodgson’s men have conceded more than 1.5 goals on an average in the last six games. At the same time, form of players like Milivojevic and Zaha has been good enough to expect at least a goal from Palace. I would opt for both teams to score.

Crystal Palace Preview

Palace have to remain nervous about to drop after failing to hold on to the lead against Bournemouth. If Palace had secured a victory in this game, it would have put the club a comfortable five points ahead of the bottom three going into the last five matches. As it stands, Palace have to be nervous with the team facing several relegation rivals in the next five games. Games against Watford, Stoke City, and West Brom could end up going either way and Palace may drop down into the bottom three at the worst possible time.

Crystal Palace Team News

Connor Wickham (groin), Bakary Sako (ankle), Jason Puncheon (cruciate ligament), Scott Dann (cruciate ligament), Jeffrey Schlupp (ankle), Christian Benteke (groin), Julian Speroni (knee), and Alexander Sorloth (hamstring) are the players missing from action for Roy Hodgson.

Brighton & Hove Albion Preview

Brighton have been unable to find the momentum required to reach the 40 point mark. The club still need five points in order to achieve this figure, but they have been unable to get a victory since beating Arsenal at home at the start of March. The next few rounds of games do look tough on Brighton, as the club are up against Spurs, Manchester United, and Manchester City. However, relegation fight looks minimal at this point due to the seven-point advantage over Southampton.

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News

Davy Propper is unavailable for the game as he serves the first of his three-game suspension.
