Chicago Fire vs Orlando City Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

Chicago Fire maintained their excellent form by bagging a 2-1 win over New England Revolution. Nemanja Nikolic opened the scoring in the 18th minute, while Luis Solignac made it 2-0 in the 61st minute with an effort from the box. Antonio Mlinar Delamea pulled one back for New England in the 70th minute. Chicago faced a rampant fire of shots from the opposition, but they eventually held on thanks to a couple of clear-cut chances missed by New England. Orlando City pulled off a 1-1 draw against 2016 MLS Cup winners Seattle Sounders. Scott Sutter netted an equalising header – from a free kick – with just seconds left in the game, after Will Bruin had provided an early opening for Seattle Sounders.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Chicago Fire have been the best teams in the 2017 MLS table over the last six games, as the club has taken five wins and a draw from these games. Orlando City have been on a very bad run of form with just one win during the same period. Orlando have managed just one away win in seven league games this season, while Chicago Fire have won the last six home games. I would back a Chicago Fire win.

Nemanja Nikolic continues to dominate the scoring charts with 13 goals. He has failed to score only twice in the last nine league games. I would back Nikolic to score anytime in the game.

Chicago Fire Preview

Chicago have enjoyed a brilliant run in the league with four wins and a draw in their last five games. The results have kept them second in the standings, only one point behind leaders Toronto FC. Chicago has scored 27 goals in their 16 games to date – including 10 in the last six matches alone. Their defence has also been reasonably good with just 17 goals conceded in the 16 games. Only Toronto have conceded fewer in the Eastern Conference with 15. Nemanja Nikolic is the top scorer for Chicago Fire, as well as the MLS, with 13 goals in 16 outings.

Chicago Fire Team News

Jorge Bava (Elbow) and John Goossens (Ankle) are the players unavailable due to injury.

Orlando City Preview

Orlando City have played exactly the opposite when compared to Chicago with a single win in their last five games. Orlando have struggled to create enough opportunities to score goals in these games. The poor form has led to their goals tally at just 20 goals – the third worst in the Eastern Conference. Orlando City are currently in a rut with just a victory since May, and they will have a tough trip to Chicago with their away record not good either. Orlando City have managed just five points from a probable 21 in the away games. Canadian striker Cyle Larin is the leading goal scorer with eight in 15 appearances this season.

Orlando City Team News

Orlando City have no players injured, while Cyle Larin is suspended for the game.
