Chicago Fire vs FC Dallas Match Prediction

By Gary Gillles

Chicago Fire managed a third consecutive win in the 2017 MLS season after a 1-0 victory over DC United at the RFK stadium. David Accam extended his wonderful run by scoring the only goal in the 52nd minute. Chicago did have several opportunities to extend their advantage through the likes of Nemanja Nikolic. FC Dallas’ unbeaten run in the MLS 2017 season ended following a 1-0 loss against San Jose Earthquakes. Jahmir Hyka scored the only goal of the game in the 81st minute, while goalkeeper David Bingham was once again in inspired form.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Momentum is with Chicago Fire after having won four consecutive games at home. Manager Veljko Paunovic has also managed to oversee three consecutive defeats. FC Dallas lost their unbeaten run with a narrow loss against San Jose Earthquakes. However, they have an extremely poor record in recent meetings with Chicago Fire after losing four out of the last five games. Dallas’ poor form has largely stemmed from a disappointing record in front of goal over the last six games. The team has scored over 1.5 goals just twice in the last six matches. Hence, I would back a Chicago Fire win.

David Accam has failed to score only once in the last six league matches. He scored one of the goals in the 2-0 win over Dallas in the last meeting between the two teams at the Toyota Park. I would back Accam to score anytime.

Chicago Fire win – 21/20

David Accam to score anytime – 6/1

Chicago Fire Preview

Chicago Fire finally managed to utilise the momentum from the back-to-back wins at Toyota Park in order to get the first away win of the season. Away form was one of the disappointing elements of the club’s 2016 campaign, but Chicago Fire are now undefeated in the last two games on the road. At home, they have been quite imperious in recent weeks after winning four consecutive games while conceding just one goal. The presence of Bastian Schweinsteiger has helped the team at both ends, while Nemanja Nikolic (10) and David Accam (6) have been the top goal scorers.

Chicago Fire Team News

John Goossens (ankle) and Patrick Doody (ill) are the only players unavailable for Chicago Fire.

FC Dallas Preview

FC Dallas finally lost their unbeaten record in the 2017 campaign, and it came in the form of only their second defeat at home since September 2015. Dallas’ run at the Toyota stadium has been mightily impressive up until now. The club has failed to win the last three home games, and they would appreciate playing on the road for the time being. Dallas are unbeaten in four away games, although only two have produced the maximum points. Maximiliano Urruti is the top scorer with six league goals.

FC Dallas Team News

Dallas will be without Mauro Diaz (Achilles tendon) and Paxton Pomykal (knee) because of injury.
