Betting Tips and Predictions

Anything other than a Chelsea victory would come as a surprise here, with Swansea appearing to lack both confidence and attacking threat at present. I’m going for a comfortable Chelsea victory.

Eden Hazard to score anytime - 4/5

Chelsea Preview

By the reaction of Antonio Conte at Anfield you’d have been forgiven for thinking Chelsea had taken all three points from Liverpool, as a late equaliser saw the Blues come away with a 1-1 draw. Mohamed Salah came back to haunt his former employers by scoring the opening goal in front of the Kop on 65 minutes after good work from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. However, Conte’s reaction to the goal was positive, bringing on Cesc Fabregas, Pedro and Willian from the bench and the changes paid off for the Italian, as the latter scored the equaliser with what looked to be an overhit cross to the far post. It was the first time in four games that Conte’s men had conceded and dropped points, after coming into the game at Anfield with three wins on the bounce. Last season’s champions already find themselves 11 points shy of Manchester City in the Premier League table ahead of this midweek clash, with the form of Pep Guardiola’s team making it increasingly unlikely that the Blues will be able to retain their crown. Losing just four league games at Stamford Bridge during his time as Chelsea boss, Conte will fully expect three points from this upcoming clash.

Chelsea Team News

Striker Michy Batshuayi (ankle) is ruled out, while Kenedy (muscle) and Charly Musonda (ankle) are both doubtful.

Swansea City Preview

Swansea managed to somewhat stop the rot at the Liberty Stadium last weekend, though they remain winless in six after they and Bournemouth drew 0-0 in south Wales on Saturday afternoon. Paul Clement’s side actually came closest to breaking the deadlock, with Wilfried Bony finding the back of the net only for the referee to adjudge that Jordan Ayew had committed a foul in the buildup - a decision Clement didn’t take too kindly and made his feelings known in no uncertain terms. Leroy Fer also came close to opening the scoring for Swansea, but they were forced to settle for a point as they remain two points adrift of safety after 13 games. Losing their last three away games on the spin - two of which were in London - Swansea have struggled to compete on the road in recent weeks after starting the season unbeaten in three away from the Liberty Stadium. Clement will remain under severe pressure until he is able to put together a string of results, though this may be considered a free hit for the side. The same can’t be said of their next two fixtures against Stoke and West Brom, where they will be real emphasis on them securing positive results or potentially force the board into making a decision.

Swansea City Team News

Kyle Bartley (knee) remains Swansea’s only injury absentee this weekend.
