Chelsea Preview

Antonio Conte’s side made it three wins on the bounce last time out after overcoming Leicester City away from home. Alvaro Morata continued his impressive start in a Chelsea shirt after scoring his third goal in four Premier League games, heading in Cesar Azpilicueta’s cross to give the Blues the lead before half-time. N’Golo Kante then netted against his former side from distance in the second half, and although Jamie Vardy’s penalty gave the Foxes hope, Chelsea held on as they moved to within a point of Manchester United and City at the top of the table. With the blip of Burnley now past Antonio Conte’s side, there is a far more positive feel surrounding the London outfit heading into the coming weeks, with normality resumed at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea benefitted hugely from having no European football last season and it will be intriguing to see how Conte rotates and adjusts his team with regular midweek football this time around. They are unbeaten in their last eight home Champions League games in the group stages coming into this one, winning seven and drawing one.

Chelsea Team News

Eden Hazard (ankle) is in contention after making his comeback appearance against Leicester at the weekend.

Qarabag FK Preview

Qarabag retained their 100% start to the Azerbaijani Premier League season after beating Qabala 2-1 at home - also ending their opponents’ perfect start to the season in the process. A frantic ten second half minutes saw all three goals scored, as Mahir Madatov opened the scoring for the hosts in the 63rd minute only for Steven Joseph-Monrose to equalise six minutes later. However, Qarabag’s response was equally as swift, with Spanish midfielder Michel netting the winner to leave his side a point behind leaders Zira with a game in hand. 20-year-old forward Madatov has made an excellent start to the season for the Azerbaijani champions, netting three times in three league games, as well as scoring the winner during his side’s 1-0 win at home to Copenhagen in the play-off qualifiers. In reaching this stage of the competitions, Qarabag have knocked out Samtredia, Sheriff and the aforementioned Copenhagen, making it an excellent achievement for the club to even reach the groups.

Qarabag FK Team News

Qarabag have a clean bill of health heading into this fixture with no injury concerns.
