Celta Vigo vs Villarreal Match Prediction

Celta de Vigo lost yet another away match as Valencia were able to get a 2-1 win at the Mestalla. Simone Zaza scored from a near post header in the 28th minute to provide the opening goal of the game, but Celta’s top scorer Iago Aspas equalised just after half-time. Dani Parejo’s late penalty, though, sent Unzue’s team to yet another poor away result. Villarreal lost 2-0 against Barcelona at the La Ceramica to slip further away from the top four places. After striking the post twice in the game, Luis Suarez opened the scoring for the away team in the 72nd minute. A late goal from Lionel Messi further capitalised on Dani Raba’s sending-off in the 60th minute. Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.
Betting Tips and Predictions
The Villarreal outfit are once again severely depleted for the game due to injuries and suspensions. The absence of key players coupled with home advantage for Celta de Vigo push this as a home win. Even though Celta de Vigo have beaten Villarreal just once in the last six meetings, they might just to be able to pull themselves together due to Javier Calleja’s team being on a poor run. Iago Aspas is a player who tends to go on scoring runs. He is in the midst of one such scoring run after having come up with six goals in the last six games. Surprisingly, he has never scored against Villarreal in eight appearances, but I think that this is a game to end this drought. I would back Iago Aspas to score anytime. Celta de Vigo win – 5/4 Iago Aspas to score anytime – 11/10

Celta Vigo Preview
Celta de Vigo have been making up places in the La Liga 2017-18 table largely due to their home run. The club’s away form does not inspire a lot of confidence as the team has picked up just one point since the surprise away wins over the likes of Eibar and Las Palmas. Yet, there may not be too much of a concern at Celta de Vigo given their substantial improvement in home form. Juan Carlos Unzue has seen his team manage nine goals in the last six matches with Iago Aspas being the main contributor. The forward has nine goals for the season.
Celta Vigo Team News
Iago Aspas and Hugo Mallo are suspended for the game, while Sergi Gomez (shoulder) and Kevin Vasquez (foot) are unavailable due to injury.
Villarreal Preview
Villarreal’s form has taken a nosedive in recent weeks with the team suffering from a spate of injuries and absences due to suspensions. The club are now in serious danger of giving up on the top six places. Dropping out of the Europa League qualification places will be a major blow to Villarreal, who looked like top four contenders only a few weeks ago. A measure of the club’s poor form is that their last league victory was back at the start of November against relegation threatened Malaga. Cedric Bakambu is the top scorer at the club with nine league goals.
Villarreal Team News
Villarreal will be without Cedric Bakambu and Daniel Raba due to suspension, while Nicola Sansone (calf), Andres Fernandez (cruciate ligament), Leonardo Suarez (cruciate ligament), Pablo Fornals (ill), and Denis Cheryshev (ankle) miss due to injuries.
