Cardiff City vs Leicester City Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Cardiff City became the latest team to suffer a loss at Anfield after falling to a 4-1 loss against Liverpool. Mohamed Salah’s opener after just 10 minutes provided a major setback for Warnock’s defensive tactics. Sadio Mane’s second-half goal appeared to put the game beyond Cardiff, who had a lucky break in the 77th minute with Callum Paterson scoring with Cardiff’s second shot. A comeback did not materialise after late goals from Xherdan Shaqiri and Sadio Mane. Leicester City drew 1-1 with West Ham at home before the tragedy that killed club chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha. West Ham received a stroke of luck to see Fabian Balbuena score in the 30th minute from a shot that rebounded off the woodwork. Mark Noble’s high challenge eight minutes later saw him receive a straight red card. After struggling to break down a stubborn West Ham defence, Leicester scored in the 89th minute through a heavily deflected effort from Wilfried Ndidi.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Leicester may be far away from the King Power Stadium but memories of their influential chairman will continue to haunt most of the established Leicester players like Jamie Vardy and Kasper Schmeichel. Cardiff have played well in the last few matches and the home crowd may once again create a very difficult atmosphere for away teams. I would opt for a double chance between a game that has a home win or draw.

Cardiff had just two shots in the match against Liverpool, but they could have created much more opportunities with some better decision-making in the final third. The home game against Fulham was quite a unique proposition with the Londoners making too many defensive mistakes. Leicester are unlikely to come up with the same. I would opt for under 2.5 goals in the match.

Cardiff City Preview

Warnock has received a significant improvement from his team over the last few matches. Even though the club were unable to pick up a positive result last weekend, Cardiff’s survival hopes to not depend on games against the likes of Liverpool. Instead, Warnock will be looking to games against the likes of Brighton, Wolves, and West Ham in the next few games. Josh Murphy and Callum Paterson have been key players for Cardiff in recent matches.

Cardiff City Team News

Harry Arter (knock), Daniel Ward (knee), Joe Ralls (knee), Lee Peltier (shoulder), and Nathanial Mendez-Laing (cruciate ligament) are unavailable for Cardiff.

Leicester City Preview

Leicester will be trying to overcome the shock of their influential chairman suffering a tragic end. The club’s form has dipped in recent weeks with two losses and a draw over the last three games. However, performances of the club continue to be decent. Manager Claude Puel has a tough job on his hands to pick his players up and a focus on finishing in a European spot. Leicester certainly have a run of winnable fixtures coming up before they head into the next international break.

Leicester City Team News

Daniel Amartey (broken ankle) and Matthew James (Achilles tendon injury) are the players unavailable for Leicester.
