Cardiff City vs Everton Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Cardiff City witnessed Watford score five goals for the first time in more than three decades of top-flight football, as the Hornets ended up getting a 5-1 success at the Cardiff City Stadium. Cardiff committed basic defensive errors to allow Gerard Deulofeu to score a hat-trick before Troy Deeney’s late brace made it a big win for the visitors. Everton are stepping onto the pitch for the first time since February 9, when they lost 1-0 to Watford at Vicarage Road. Marco Silva watched his team lose the game after Andre Gray’s only goal in the 65th minute, while Kurt Zouma was sent off late in the match following two yellow cards.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Everton are looking to remain unbeaten against Cardiff in Premier League meetings, but it will be difficult considering the club’s recent run of form. Everton have lost four in the last six league encounters, while Cardiff will be very anxious to recover from the heavy home defeat against Watford. Neil Warnock may convey the sense of injustice in the game against Watford to great effect. Still, a draw is my pick for the match.

The game is likely to be an entertainer with Cardiff committing too many defensive mistakes of late and the same can be said about Everton’s form. Both teams have conceded over two goals per game on an average. I would back more than 2.5 goals.

Cardiff City Preview

Cardiff were disappointed with the injustice provided by the referee in the game against Watford, but Neil Warnock has to get Cardiff back in the frame for victories very soon. The wins over Bournemouth and Southampton has provided a very realistic possibility of Cardiff being able to avoid relegation this season, but the team has to keep picking up points in order to stay outside the bottom three. Southampton are only one point behind but Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men have been quite impressive and will not stay in the bottom three for long. Cardiff do like in terms of creativity, but they have been able to make up for this disadvantage in terms of workrate.

Cardiff City Team News

Ashley Richards (hamstring), Víctor Camarasa (calf), Matthew Connelly (illness), and Lee Peltier (illness) are missing for Cardiff.

Everton Preview

Marco Silva is coming under a great deal of pressure after watching his Everton team lose for a 12th time in the recent Premier League game. After a brilliant first half of the campaign, the Merseyside outfit have been struggling to get any sort of a momentum. The likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richarlison are nowhere to be seen in recent weeks with the two players contributing a grand total of three goals in 2019. Richarlison, though, is the only Everton player to hit league goals in double figures this season.

Everton Team News

Leighton Baines (rib), Phil Jagielka (knee), and Yerry Mina (foot) are unavailable, while Kurt Zouma is suspended for the match.
