Betting Tips and Predictions

It’s hard to say which of these two sides have been more impressive this season, with each manager hugely enhancing their personal reputations. That said, with home advantage going their way, I’m going for a Burnley win.

Burnley Preview

Defeat is a feeling Burnley haven’t come accustomed to feeling yet this season, but it came their way at the King Power Stadium last weekend, with Leicester securing a 1-0 victory over Sean Dyche’s men. Demarai Gray scored the only goal of the game after just six minutes, doing so from close range as Burnley dropped a place to 7th in the league, below Tottenham Hotspur after their point at Watford. Having formerly managed at Watford earlier in his career, as well as making 78 appearances for the club as a player between 2002-2005, this is a fixture that will always hold meaning for Dyche, who some may feel was harshly dismissed after a solid first season with the Hornets. Despite the dismissal, Dyche probably wouldn’t now go back and change that particular experience, given it opened the door to what has thus far been an incredible five years at Turf Moor. Only Arsenal have won away at Burnley in the last six games at Turf Moor, while no side has scored more than one goal against the Clarets at home so far this season. There is a wily determination and organisation about this team, who have once again thrived from sticking with a relatively settled XI.

Burnley Team News

Tom Heaton (shoulder), Matt Lowton, Dean Marney and Robbie Brady (all knee) look set to miss out here. Steven Defour and Jonathan Walters could both return.

Watford Preview

There probably couldn’t have been a better time for this Watford team to bump into Tottenham Hotspur team, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side struggling to get a win in the Premier League. Those thoughts would’ve been reinforced when Christian Kabasele headed Watford into a 13th minute lead, but Christian Eriksen’s low cross allowed Heung-Min Son to tap in from close range. Davinson Sanchez was also dismissed early in the second half as Watford pushed hard for a winner, seeing two penalty shouts turned away by the referee, as they were eventually made to settle for a point. That in turn left Watford with just a point from their two back-to-back home games, now making it important that they are able to pick up points in these successive away matches to keep in the top seven hunt. The Hornets have performed well away from home this season, winning four of their seven on the road, including a 3-0 victory at Newcastle United in their previous away outing. Richarlison has proved to be one of the signings of the season so far, with the 20-year-old netting five goals in his first 15 games and is attracting admirable glances from afar.

Watford Team News

Craig Cathcart and Nathaniel Chalobah are both set to miss out with knee problems. Miguel Britos (leg), Younes Kaboul, Will Hughes (both hamstring) and Isaac Success (knee) are set to miss out.
