Tottenham will be ferociously looking to bounce back in style here, with the defeat at Manchester City being a humbling one. However, Burnley are tough opposition and I’m not expecting them to lose here.

Burnley Preview

Burnley were unable to make it three wins in a row in the Premier League last time out, after they were held to a 0-0 draw away to Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium. It was an expectedly cagey affair on the south coast, with the Seagulls in particular aiming to avoid defeat and were successful in doing so as they shut out the high-flying Clarets. In fact, it could've been worse for Burnley, who came away with a point after Glenn Murray failed to convert from the penalty spot, with that in turn helping Sean Dyche’s men to a point that kept them a point above Spurs in the table. The meeting at Brighton was also the third successive clean sheet that Burnley have kept in the Premier League, with their defensive unit being one of the key reasons for their stunning success so far this term. However, they will be without James Tarkowski this weekend, who accepted his charge for violent conduct and now serves the first of his three-match suspension on Saturday afternoon. Losing just one of their last eight games at Turf Moor - winning four of their last five - Burnley have maintained their excellent form from last season at home, with Arsenal being the only team to beat and score against them in that run.

Burnley Team News

Tom Heaton (dislocated shoulder) is out until the New Year, while Stephen Ward, Dean Marney, Robbie Brady and Jonathan Walters all have knee problems.

Tottenham Hotspur Preview

Tottenham Hotspur were exposed to the fact of just how far away they are from being title contenders this season after being thrashed 4-1 away to runaway leaders Manchester City to fall 21 points behind Pep Guardiola’s side in the league. Ilkay Gundogan headed in the opening goal for the home side after just 14 minutes, with their second coming in the 70th minute through Kevin de Bruyne’s lethal finish. Raheem Sterling then scored twice in the final 10 minutes to add to Mauricio Pochettino’s concerns, with Christian Eriksen netting a consolation late on from the edge of the box. Now winning just two of their last seven games in the Premier League, Spurs have now dropped to 7th in the Premier League table, now being three points behind Liverpool heading into this weekend’s round of fixtures. In fact, Tottenham are now only six points above Everton in the table, showing just how poor their recent run has been. Having started the season by winning four straight away from home - carrying over their record from last season to make it 9 away wins from 10 - Pochettino has now seen his team fail to win in any of their last five on the road, taking just one point from a possible 15.

Tottenham Hotspur Team News

Toby Alderweireld (hamstring) is ruled out for Tottenham, while Victor Wanyama (knee) is a doubt.
