Burnley vs Fulham Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Burnley have picked up form once again and the team registered a 1-0 win over Barnsley to reach the fourth round of the FA Cup. The Championship club seemed to have forced a replay when Chris Wood came up with an injury time penalty in order to hand Sean Dyche’s men with a sigh of relief. Fulham had a major upset with the team losing 2-1 against League Two outfit Oldham at home. Claudio Ranieri made changes to the team but Fulham did take the lead in the 52nd minute through Dennis Odoi. However, late goals from Sam Surridge (penalty) and Callum Lang were able to handle a major upset.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Burnley are aiming for four consecutive wins for the first time this season. The Clarets went on a similar strong run almost a year ago in March 2018. Fulham went through a decent patch of form towards the end of last year but that form has gone out of the window after back-to-back losses – including a defeat against a lower league opponent. In such a scenario, Burnley will be looking to capitalise on Fulham’s struggles at both ends of the pitch. I would pick a Burnley win.

A major fault with Burnley this season has been a poor defence, which is likely to have gained a reasonable amount of confidence after two clean sheets in the last three matches. Both clean sheets have come in home matches. Fulham, meanwhile, are struggling to convert chances that come their way, but this match can bring about a difference. I would pick both teams to score.

Burnley Preview

Sean Dyche will be mightily relieved to see his Burnley team back on form with three consecutive wins. The team may have struggled in order to get the late win over Barnsley, but the progress into the fourth round of the FA Cup by avoiding a tricky replay will be a huge boost to the club’s confidence levels. Burnley have made an excellent start to 2019 but a tricky run of games begin for the team with three away games in the next four matches. Even last season, the club relied heavily on home matches in order to keep them well away from the drop zone. Burnley need to build on their defence in order to make the most of games at Turf Moor.

Burnley Team News

Phil Bardsley (strain), Aaron Lennon (knee), and Matthew Lowton (toe) are unavailable for the Clarets. Meanwhile, Robert Brady is suspended for the game.

Fulham Preview

The lift provided by the arrival of Claudio Ranieri appears to be slowly dissipating with Fulham slipping back into a set of lowly results. If the heavy loss against Arsenal was bad, the FA Cup exit at the hands of Oldham, who are in League Two, is an embarrassment. Fulham do have back-to-back games at Craven Cottage in order to recover from this run, but the club needs to overcome a resurgent Burnley outfit. Fulham will also benefit greatly by getting Aleksandar Mitrovic back to form.

Fulham Team News

Alfie Mawson (knee) and Andre Zambo Anguissa (ankle) are unavailable for Fulham.
