Burnley vs Everton Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Burnley conceded late against Southampton to end up getting only a 1-1 draw at home. Ashley Barnes provided a huge relief to the Turf Moor by scoring the opening goal in the 67th minute. Just when it seemed that Burnley would pick up a first win in 11, Manolo Gabbiadini came up with an injury time equaliser to silence the home supporters. Everton’s poor away form continued after a 1-0 loss against Watford at the Vicarage Road. Troy Deeney came up with the only goal with 11 minutes of normal time left in the game.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Even though there are criticisms about Everton’s poor away form, the club have the potential to squeeze out draws. Burnley are low on confidence and Everton have the potential to prevent a home win – especially if they frustrate the home supporters in the first half. Burnley have not been in a winning position at half-time in any of the last six games at the Turf Moor. I would go with a draw. The likes of Theo Walcott and Niasse have been threatening in recent weeks. Everton have been unable to score just once in the last five league matches. Burnley have scored in three out of the last four games at the Turf Moor. I would recommend going with both teams to score.

Burnley Preview

Burnley’s poor run continues to be a major worry for manager Sean Dyche. Just when it seemed that the break would come through a narrow home victory over Southampton, the late equaliser pushes the club’s fragile confidence even lower. It is quite incredible that Burnley last managed a victory almost 3 months ago. Earlier in the campaign, Burnley were reliant on games at the Turf Moor to provide them with the wins. Now, even the home wins have dried up and the club are in danger of sliding down the table – even if they still remain in the top eight places. Ashley Barnes has now become the top scorer at the club alongside Chris Wood after getting four goals.

Burnley Team News

Jonathan Walters (knee), Robert Brady (knee), Scott Arfield (calf), and Steven Defour (knee) are unavailable for manager Sean Dyche. James Tarkowski (groin) is rated as doubtful for the game.

Everton Preview

The woeful away form for Everton does not look too bad if the heavy defeats against Arsenal and Tottenham are taken out of the equation. Even against Watford, Everton may have been criticised for a negative approach, but the team came rather close to getting a point in the game. Sam Allardyce will be keen on ending the disappointing away form as soon as possible, and it will be a great foundation for their run of three home games in four matches for the Toffees. Wayne Rooney still leads the scoring charts at the Merseyside club and he has 10 league goals.

Everton Team News

James McCarthy (leg), Leighton Baines (calf), and Eliaquim Mangala (knee) are certain to miss out, while Seamus Coleman is doubtful with a thigh injury.
