Burnley vs AFC Bournemouth Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Burnley were once again at the end of a defeat as they fell to a 1-0 loss against Wolves at the Molineux Stadium. It was an impressive performance from the hosts, who required a second-half goal from the impressive Raul Jimenez in order to break the deadlock. Bournemouth were able to pick up a 4-2 victory over Leicester City to make a comeback to winning ways. A brace from Ryan Fraser, a penalty from Joshua King, and a late goal from Adam Smith appeared to hand Bournemouth a big win, but two late goals from Leicester – James Madison and Marc Albrighton – were able to spoil a perfect day for the Cherries.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Bournemouth have been a strong outfit at the start of the season. Even though visitors used to fear at the prospect of travelling to Turf Moor last season, Bournemouth picked up a win at this ground last season and they are in a good state of mind coming into this encounter. Burnley lack confidence, quality, and energy to compete at this moment. I would pick a victory for Bournemouth.

The strength of Bournemouth in the early part of the campaign has been their ability to get goals on a consistent basis. The team has failed to score only once in the last eight league matches going back to the middle of April last season. Burnley lack creativity and energy going forward, but home games usually help Burnley to get at least a goal. I would pick both teams to score.

Burnley Preview

The campaign is in danger of falling apart for Burnley, who started with a lot of positivity due to their qualification to the Europa League. However, Europe may have effectively – along with the World Cup – disrupted their campaign with Burnley struggling for any kind of a momentum. Last season, home form was a huge factor in helping Burnley reach Europe but even that has not come to the Clarets’ rescue with the team losing both home league games this season. James Tarkowski is the top scorer at the club with two league goals.

Burnley Team News

Nick Pope (dislocated shoulder) and Ben Gibson (groin) are the players unavailable for Burnley.

AFC Bournemouth Preview

Bournemouth have recovered from a two-game winless run in the Premier League to come up with a comprehensive success over Leicester City. Eddie Howe’s men continue to impress in the campaign even if they have not made wholesale changes to the squad. Howe will be aware that maintaining this momentum over the next five weeks can help Bournemouth make up a huge impact in the 2018-19 campaign, as all of the next five league games are winnable as they are against teams in the bottom half of the table. Joshua King and Callum Wilson are tied on two goals while Ryan Fraser has become the new top scorer with three league goals.

AFC Bournemouth Team News

Charlie Daniels (knee) and Marc Pugh (hamstring) are missing from action for the Cherries.
