Brighton & Hove Albion vs Wolverhampton Wanderers Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Brighton picked up their first away victory of 2018 after a 1-0 success over Newcastle United at St James’ Park. Baram Kayal came up with the only goal of the game for the Seagulls, who are extremely effective at capitalising on Newcastle’s low confidence and hostile home support. Wolves failed to win three consecutive league games once again as they slipped to a 2-0 loss against Watford at home. Etienne Capoue and Roberto Pereyra scored in the space of a minute as the visitors capitalised on Wolves’ lapse of concentration to get an important win.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

There is a good prospect of Murray being back in the starting line-up by the time the game kicks off. Brighton’s top scorer suffered a concussion against Manchester City and his absence would be a major blow for the Seagulls. Wolves showed their first poor performance in the game against Watford, but the team can be excused for having loosened up during the international break. Nuno should know enough to fire Wolves so that they avoid a third consecutive loss against Brighton. I would back a draw.

This is a game between two teams that do not score many goals. Brighton and Wolves have averaged just around the goal per game over the last six matches. Historically, this has been a fixture with little joy for supporters in terms of goals. I would back under 2.5 goals in the game.

Brighton & Hove Albion Preview

Brighton are not known to put together a string of victories and Chris Hughton will be more than pleased to see his team manage back-to-back 1-0 wins. They have helped open up a six-point advantage over the bottom three. Crucially, Brighton have plenty of winnable games over the next five league games that the Seagulls may even start to think about a top-10 place before heading into the fixtures in December. Brighton have been heavily dependent on Glen Murray, whose concussion could hamper the club’s impressive run. The 35-year-old is the club’s top scorer with an impressive return of five league goals.

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News

Bruno Saltor (back), Glen Murray (concussion), Martin Montoya (hamstring), Davy Propper (ankle), and Soufyan Ahannach (leg) are the players unavailable for Chris Hughton.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Preview

Wolves had one of the mediocre performances since the start of the campaign and they came away with a justified loss against Watford. This may act as a wake-up call for Nuno’s men, who should be aware that the club are far from safe even after making a decent start to the campaign. Wolves may find themselves in the top 10 but the advantage over the bottom three could vanish in the space of a few weeks if Wolves are not awake to their dangers. Wolves have not been about scoring goals but they have certainly been solid at the back. Prior to the match against Watford, Wolves had not conceded more than 1.5 goals since the opening day. Raul Jimenez remains the top scorer with two league goals.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Team News

There are no injury or suspension worries for Nuno ahead of the game.
