Betting Tips and Predictions

Of late, it appears both teams are unwilling to take that extra risk needed to win and I’m expecting this to end in a draw.

Brighton & Hove Albion Preview

Given the recent form of Brighton, it was absolutely imperative that the Seagulls didn’t drop to defeat against rivals Southampton last time out and they were able to avoid doing so following a 1-1 draw at St. Mary’s Stadium. Glenn Murray ensured the visitors were to get off to the perfect start early on, putting them a goal to the good with a cool penalty after 14 minutes. Jack Stephens then flicked home James Ward-Prowse’s cross to pull Southampton back on level terms and although Saints then enjoyed the better of the chances in the closing stages, Brighton held on for a tough point in the south coast derby. It now leaves Chris Hughton’s side with just one win in their last 14 games in the Premier League, also leaving it somewhat surprising to see that they are still 15th in the table. That said, they are just a point above the relegation zone at this moment in time and will be hoping that their new signings can have an instant impact in the coming weeks. Jurgen Locadia and Leonardo Ulloa have both arrived during the January transfer window in a bid to bolster their attacking options, with the team struggling to score goals in recent weeks.

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News

Steve Sidwell (back) and Jurgen Locadia (hamstring) are both set to miss out for Brighton.

West Ham United Preview

In spite of a horrific injury list, West Ham came out of their clash with Crystal Palace with a hard-fought point following their 1-1 draw at the London Stadium. Injuries have left the Hammers’ squad depleted, particularly in attack, where Cheikhou Kouyate and Joao Mario played furthest forward in support of Javier Hernandez. Christian Benteke gave the Eagles the lead midway through the first half with a header from Andros Townsend’s cross, but Mark Noble’s penalty just before half-time earned David Moyes’ men a point. Things are unlikely to get much easier for the Hammers this weekend, with a large proportion of their squad still missing through injury. Losing only one of their previous ten games in the Premier League, Moyes has managed to produce a consistent level of performance from his players since taking the West Ham job, making them the form side of the two coming into this clash. Taking eight points from a possible 12 in their previous four away from home, West Ham will feel confident of adding to their recent points total this weekend. The Hammers were able to pull off one late deal on deadline day, with Preston North End striker Jordan Hugill arriving for £9m.

West Ham United Team News

Winston Reid, Arthur Masuaku, Pedro Obiang, Edimilson Fernandes, Manuel Lanzini, Michail Antonio, Marko Arnautovic and Andy Carroll are all set to miss out.
