Brighton & Hove Albion Preview

The harsh realities of being a newly-promoted side in the Premier League club appear to be setting in for Brighton and Hove Albion, as they attempt to adjust to life as a top-flight team. Games such as their one away to Arsenal last time out will ultimately be seen as bonus points should they be able to get a result from them, but found themselves behind after just 16 minutes at the Emirates Stadium through Nacho Monreal. Alex Iwobi netted the second just after half-time for the home side, as Brighton struggled to ever really get a foothold in the game, managing just one shot on target. Chris Hughton’s side have now lost three of their last four matches in all competitions coming into this one, scoring just two goals during that time. It is in front of goal that they are likely to have the most issues this season, with both Pascal Gross and Tomer Hemed being their top goal scorers this term with two goals apiece. The Seagulls have looked bright at home, though, winning back-to-back Premier League games on home soil, taking six points from a possible nine in total and will know how vital their home form is to their survival hopes.

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News

Tomer Hemed is suspended for Brighton, while Steve Sidwell (back) and Biram Kayal (broken leg) are both ruled out. Davy Propper (thigh) is a doubt, as is Sam Baldock (calf).

Everton Preview

It may only be mid-October, but this already has the look of a must-win game for the under-fire Ronald Koeman, who saw his side produce another disappointing performance at home to Burnley last time out. Despite making mass changes - including dropping Wayne Rooney - it remained much of the same for an unimaginative Everton team that struggled to create chances or seriously work stand-in Burnley keeper Nick Pope. The game’s only goal came on 21 minutes as Jeff Hendrick coolly slotted past Jordan Pickford following some neat attacking play from Burnley in the Everton half. Koeman is now odds-on to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job and, given their current league position of 16th, may not be far from the sack should they lose this weekend at Brighton. Starting the season with just two wins from their first seven league games, far more would’ve been expected from this team after such an active and expensive summer transfer window. However, given the fact they are without a win in their last eleven matches away from home, form is certainly against them getting three points this weekend.

Everton Team News

Seamus Coleman (broken leg), Ramiro Funes Mori (knee), Ross Barkley (hamstring) and Yannick Bolasie (cruciate ligament) are all missing here. Phil Jagielka (hamstring) and James McCarthy (knee) are both doubts.
