Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Brighton created history in the Premier League by taking three points from a losing position for the first time in the history. The club beat Huddersfield 2-1 at the John Smith’s Stadium. Despite falling to Matias Jorgensen’s headed goal inside the opening minute, Brighton saw the game change when Steve Mounie received a straight red card in the 32nd minute. Shane Duffy’s header before half-time and Florin Andone’s second-half goal provided a win for the Brighton. Crystal Palace came up with a first league victory in almost 3 months after beating Burnley 2-0 at home. James McArthur’s cross went into the net without anybody storage in the 16th minute, while Andros Townsend’s unstoppable shot flew into the net in the 77th minute.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Brighton have had an excellent set of results at the AMEX Stadium with only one defeat so far in the league matches on this ground. Crystal Palace may have picked up a first victory in almost 3 months but they will be quite concerned that facing Brighton at the AMEX Stadium. The Seagulls take extra care when it comes to doing well at home with only one defeat in league matches this season. I would go with a win for the hosts since Palace still lack enough attacking threat.

Glen Murray comes back to face defenders like Mamadou Sakho, who have been in good form. However, his ability to score from a variety of situations might actually help Brighton get the crucial winner in this match. I would back Murray to score anytime.

Brighton win – 19/10

Glen Murray to score anytime – 7/4

Brighton & Hove Albion Preview

Brighton manager Chris Hughton has seen his team fly high in the 2018-19 table and the victory over Huddersfield finally helped get a monkey off the back. Brighton have picked up a comeback victory for the first time in the Premier League and it is a clear sign of the resilient mentality instilled by Hughton. The decision to rest Murray turned out to be a great call – in hindsight – by the manager since Brighton were able to win a game without the 35-year-old. However, Murray remains an integral part of Brighton with seven league goals.

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News

Alireza Jahanbakhsh (hamstring), David Button (knee), and Soufyan Ahannach (leg) are unavailable for Brighton.

Crystal Palace Preview

Roy Hodgson has every reason to be delighted with the significant improvement in performances from his Palace outfit. After having struggled to create any opportunity in front of goal at Selhurst Park this season, it was a delight for the manager to witness his team come up with a new Premier League record – Palace’s 29 shots against Burnley is the third highest in a Premier League match. However, Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend continue to lead the line in the absence of Christian Benteke. Both players are not natural forwards and this has reflected in some of their recent struggles in front of goal.

Crystal Palace Team News

Christian Benteke (knee) is the only player on the sidelines for Palace.
