Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

The bottom-placed Crystal Palace will be looking to build on their recent Premier League victory when they travel to the Amex Stadium to take on Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday night. Brighton suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat on the road at Manchester United at the weekend, with Lewis Dunk scoring an own-goal just six minutes after the hour mark. On the flip side, Crystal Palace fought back from one-goal down to secure a 2-1 home win over Stoke City thanks to goals from Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mamadou Sakho. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news, match stats and odds all in our SBAT preview. Feel free to visit our Bet of the day page to check our best daily tips.

Betting Predictions and Tips

Brighton have been solid at the back so far this season, but they have only kept one clean sheet on home soil in their last ten games across all competitions. Meanwhile, Palace have only scored once on the road this season, but they managed to score at least two goals in three of their last four visits to the Amex Stadium. This makes us backing both teams to score here, although Palace come into this tie high on confidence and they are more than capable of securing the first away win of the season.

Brighton & Hove Albion Preview

Brighton & Hove Albion’s five-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League ended at the weekend as they lost 1-0 at Old Trafford. This leaves them in 9th spot in the Premier League table tied on 16 points with the 10th-placed Southampton, eight points of the top five. The good news is that Brighton are now back on home soil where they are undefeated in five Premier League games at the moment, winning two and drawing three in the process. The Seagulls looked decent at the back throughout this campaign, but they have struggled at the other end of the field. Brighton have only scored 13 goals in 13 rounds so far this season, which is one of the worst attacking records in top ten. Glenn Murray is the team’s topscorer with four goals under his belt, while Pascal Gross has helped the team with three goals and five assists in his 13 league appearances. Theoretically, this is a winnable game against a struggling Crystal Palace side, but the bad news is that Brighton have lost three of their last four home meetings with Crystal Palace, although all of these games have been in the Championship.

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News

Steve Sidwell is the only doubtful player for Brighton ahead of this game.

Crystal Palace Preview

Crystal Palace, on the other hand, had a start to the season to forget, but they enter the fray in buoyant mood following their 2-1 home victory over Stoke City at the weekend. This was Palace’s only second win of the season and ended a five-game winless streak across all competitions. The Eagles have struggled at both ends of the field throughout this Premier League campaign, but scoring goals has been their biggest problem. They hold the second worst-attacking record in the division with just eight goals scored in 13 rounds. Wilfried Zaha has been Crystal Palace’s most prolific player in front of goal so far this season as he is leading the club’s goalscoring charts with three goals under his belt. The most worrying fact is that Palace have lost all their seven competitive away fixtures this season, having scored just once in the process. However, since Roy Hodgson came in the Eagles managed to find the back in six occasions, and they will be looking to score a couple past Brighton on Tuesday night. Palace managed to score at least two goals in three of their last four visits to the Amex Stadium, with the most recent one being in May 2013.

Crystal Palace Team News

Chung-Yong Lee is a doubt, but Conor Wickham is still out through a cruciate ligament injury.
