Brighton & Hove Albion vs Bristol City Match Prediction

By Gary Gillles

This Saturday Sky Sports game (17:30) could see the home side claim the league title if they are victorious. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats. Brighton have dominated the recent head-to-head meetings between these sides going unbeaten in their last seven games. The reverse fixture in November was won 2-0 by Brighton thanks to a goal each from Steve Sidwell and Jamie Murphy. The Seagulls lost 2-0 to Norwich last time out though this may be a case of having celebrated promotion soon. A break of a week and the chance to win the league in front of their own fans means they should be more motivated here. Bristol City all but secured their place in the Championship last time out as they defeated Barnsley 3-2. The goals that day were scored by Tammy Abraham, Jamie Paterson and Aden Flint.

The match odds offer no value so I would recommend looking at the goalscorer market for your bets here. Glenn Murray is the king of home games with a goal in each of their last five at the Amex and he looks value to net at anytime here. Bristol City front man Tammy Abraham has four in his last four and is another player who looks anytime value as he will like the attention that playing against promoted Brighton will bring.

Brighton & Hove Albion Preview

Defeat for Brighton last time out put to an end a run of five straight victories. They sit top of the table four points above Newcastle in second and if they claim all three points here then they will claim the league title. It is four consecutive victories at home for the Seagulls and 12 from their last 14. No side has a stronger home record this season as they have picked up 54 points from a possible 66 on offer from these games. They have the joint fourth best ranked attack in the division and the tightest defence in the division. 12 of their last 14 have seen a total of exactly two or three goals scored including each of their last four. Glenn Murray has found the back of the net five times in his last eight games.

Bristol City Preview

Three victories and one victory from their last four games has enabled Bristol City to all but mathematically secure their place in the Championship next season. They sit in 17th six points and five places above the relegation zone. On the road, the Robins have struggled recently with just one victory in their last 17 in the Championship. Only Nottingham Forest and Rotherham have won a lower amount of away matches than Bristol City. They have had no trouble finding the back of the net and have the joint ninth best attack in the division though their defence is just 21st best. Five of their last seven have gone over 2.5 goals with the other two featuring two goals. Tammy Abraham has four goals in his last four games while Jamie Paterson has three in the last four.

Bristol City Team News

The Robins have no new injuries or suspensions ahead of this game.
