Brighton & Hove Albion vs Arsenal Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Brighton moved closer towards safety after a 4-1 win over Swansea City at the AMEX stadium. Glen Murray opened the scoring by converting from the spot in the 18th minute. His second goal of the evening came in the 69th minute, while Antony Knockaert extended Brighton’s advantage even further after 73 minutes. Swansea pulled one back when Lewis Dunk registered an own goal, but Jurgen Locadia scored his first Brighton goal to restore the three-goal lead. Arsenal suffered a second consecutive 3-0 loss against Manchester City on Thursday night. Pep Guardiola’s outfit scored all three goals in the first half – through Bernardo Silva, David Silva, and Leroy Sane, as boos rang around the Emirates Stadium.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

It is fast turning out into a disastrous campaign for Arsenal and a lot hinges upon the Europa League games against AC Milan. Arsene Wenger is likely to rotate his squad on Sunday with this game in mind. This could play into the hands of Brighton, who are unbeaten in the last six. Brighton’s last home win over Arsenal was in 1982, but I would go with a double chance between a Brighton win or draw. Glen Murray simply cannot stop scoring, as the veteran has been able to get five goals in his last five games. The 34-year-old has failed to score only once in this run. Murray has had just 35 minutes of game time against the Gunners in the past, but he has been able to score once in this period. Even though this goal came in the 2014-15 campaign, Murray’s recent form is a great reason to back the forward to score anytime.

Brighton win or draw – 17/20

Glen Murray to score anytime – 15/8

Brighton & Hove Albion Preview

Chris Hughton has been able to get his Brighton team up to 12th in the table after a brilliant run of form over the last few weeks. The club will be able to end any fears about relegation with another couple of victories under their belt. Brighton are only nine points away from achieving the 40-point figure, which is often regarded as a psychological barrier to confirm safety. Since the 4-0 hammering at the hands of Chelsea towards the end of January, Brighton have been looking brilliant in almost every department. Glen Murray has hit double figures (10) for the league campaign after his brace against Swansea.

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News

Chris Hughton will be without Jiri Skalak due to an ankle injury.

Arsenal Preview

The season is on the verge of collapsing for Arsenal, as back-to-back 3-0 losses against Manchester City have left Arsene Wenger with a huge burden and plenty of questions. Arsenal are effectively out of the race to finish in the top four, as the club have fallen 10 points behind Tottenham, who have been on a much better run of form. The failure to win the League Cup means that the entire focus for the club now rests on the Europa League matches against AC Milan. Alexandre Lacazette is still the top scorer at Arsenal with nine league goals.

Arsenal Team News

Jack Wilshere is a doubt for the game with a knee injury, while Alexandre Lacazette (knee) and Nacho Monreal (back) are not returning until the middle of March. Santi Cazorla has been ruled out for the campaign due to an Achilles tendon injury.
