Brighton & Hove Albion vs Arsenal Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Brighton have now lost three consecutive league games as Chris Hughton watched his team slip to a 2-0 loss against Bournemouth during the weekend. David Brooks came up with a goal in either half to send Brighton to their ninth league defeat of the campaign, while Lewis Dunk’s red card makes him unavailable for the upcoming match. Arsenal managed a strong 3-1 success over Burnley as the team bounced back from a two-game losing streak. A brace from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put Arsenal in a commanding position just after half-time, but Ashley Barnes pulled one back for the visitors. The game was settled in injury time with a goal from Alex Iwobi.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

The AMEX Stadium has been a tough place for visiting teams this season with only Chelsea and Tottenham managing to return home with three points. Interestingly, Brighton are hoping to avoid another loss against a London outfit, who have just rediscovered the winning touch. Brighton have been quite poor in recent matches and they may not be able to sustain a 90-minute game of great tempo. Arsenal have mounting injury problems but I would pick a win for the Gunners.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been able to get his first goal in five appearances after a stellar performance against Burnley. The match yielded him two goals and the opportunity to go top of the scoring charts in the Premier League with 12 league goals. After having scored in the last trip to the AMEX Stadium, Aubameyang is my pick to score anytime.

Arsenal win – 8/11

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to score anytime – 4/6

Brighton & Hove Albion Preview

Chris Hughton will be aware of the importance of picking up some points during the Christmas period, as this stage of the campaign can do a lot of harm for teams going through a poor run of form. After having lost three consecutive games, a match at the AMEX Stadium is Brighton’s best bet to get out of this poor form. This is the place where Brighton have picked up four out of their six league victories this season. The impact of Glen Murray this season has been profound but Florin Andone’s contribution over the last few weeks cannot be discounted.

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News

Lewis Dunk is suspended for the game, while José Izquierdo (knee), Soufyan Ahannach (broken leg), and Alireza Jahanbakhsh (hamstring) are missing from action for Hughton.

Arsenal Preview

Arsenal were once again able to bounce back from a two-game losing streak with a victory. Now, Unai Emery will be hoping that the club once again go on a huge unbeaten streak. Even though Arsenal are still outside the top four coming into this match, the Gunners will feel extremely confident about qualifying for next season’s Champions League as long as they remain within touching distance. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang came back to form with a brace against Burnley. The 29-year-old is now the top scorer in the league with 12 league goals.

Arsenal Team News

Henrikh Mkhitaryan (ankle), Shkodran Mustafi (hamstring), Nacho Monreal, Danny Welbeck (broken ankle), Rob Holding (cruciate ligament), Hector Bellerin (calf), and Konstantinos Mavropanos (groin) are unavailable for the Gunners.
