Brentford vs Huddersfield Town Match Prediction

By Gary Gillles

Two of the top three in the form table do battle at Griffin Park on Saturday afternoon (15:00). Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Brentford have won three of the last four meetings between the sides, but it was Huddersfield who came out on top when they met in the reverse fixture.  Town won 2-1 thanks to a goal each from Elias Kachunga and Kasey Palmer with Nico Yennaris netting the only one for the Bees.

It is now four games unbeaten for the London side who saw off Nottingham Forest 3-2 at the City Ground in midweek. Lasse Vibe grabbed two and Jota Peleteiro the other as they seemed to be coasting after the hour.  Forest though grabbed two in the last ten minutes to scare the Bees, but they hung on for all three points.

Huddersfield got back to winning ways last time out with a 1-0 home victory over Aston Villa. Tommy Smith got the only goal of the game as the Terriers continue to put pressure on the two sides above them.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Brentford are playing open attractive Football at the moment and I think this tie looks like it could have goals. Over 2.5 looks a little short but five of the last eight Bees games have gone over 3.5 goals so play this market instead.

Nine goals have been scored in the last 15 minutes of Brentford matches in their last five and it looks worth an interest that we will have a late goal here. The time of the market is set at 73:59 so take YES that we will see a goal after this which would have also paid in four of the last five for Huddersfield.

Over 3.5 goals in the game

YES there will be a goal after 73:59

Brentford Preview

A run of four games without defeat has allowed Brentford to climb out of relegation trouble. They now sit in 12th which is 12 points and ten places above the relegation zone which means they are comfortably safe.

It is just one defeat from their last seven home matches, and this defeat came against top of the table Newcastle. They have won two, drawn three and lost three in their previous ties at home to the top ten.

Ten of their last 11 league fixtures have gone over 2.5 goals, and each of their last seven have seen both teams score. The last three at Griffin Park have produced a total of 15 goals which is an average of five goals per game. The Bees have scored in the first half of each of their last four.

Huddersfield Preview

It is just two defeats in their last 17 league games for Huddersfield a run that has seen them climb to third in the table. They still have a good chance of automatic promotion as they trail Brighton in second by just six points and have a game in hand.

None of their six remaining away fixtures are at sides in the top nine with Derby (tenth) and Brentford (12th) the only two remaining battles against top half teams. Town have suffered just one away defeat in their last eight in the league.

The Terriers are in the middle when it comes to over and under games with 17 going over and 18 under though this changes to just seven of 17 going under on the road.  Six of their last eight has seen both teams score and each of their last three away. Eight goals have been scored in the last 21 minutes of recent Huddersfield games
