Brentford vs Bristol City Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

This Tuesday evening (19:45) Championship fixture from Griffin Park pits Brentford up against Bristol City. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats. Brentford are looking to get their season on track after defeats in their first two games. They lost 4-3 to Forest in their last game in a seven-goal thriller. The London outfit goals came one each from John Egan, Andreas Bjelland and Neal Maupay. City went down 2-1 to Birmingham in their last game despite taking a lead after one minute through Bobby Reid. The Robins came on strong in the end after a sending-off but could not find the breakthrough. The Bees won both encounters between these sides last season winning their home game 2-0 and winning 1-0 at Ashton Gate. It is part of a strong head-to-head record for the London outfit who have not lost any of their last six clashes.

Betting Tips and Previews

Both these teams are blessed with attacking talent and a desire to get forward so goals could be the order of the day. Bookmakers are wise to this making over 2.5 goals very short but another way to get with this is in the total team goal markets. Take both sides to go over 1.5 goals in what promises to be an entertaining encounter.

Brentford Preview

It has been two defeats in two league games for Brentford but on both occasions, they seemed to have played well or at least in spells of the game. They are probably not a million miles away from clicking together and getting a result. Four of the last six they have shipped have come in the first-half with three of them coming in the ten minutes just before half-time. Two of the five goals they have conceded in the league have come from set-pieces. Despite no goal for the season Jota has been impressive this with two assists and the goals will follow as he is currently registering five shots per game. So too is Lasse Vibe who has yet to score but is producing three shots per match.

Brentford Team News

Lewis MacLeod is out for at least a month with a cruciate ligament injury.

Bristol City Preview

After going one up in the second minute Bristol City must have thought they were on for another great afternoon but they were undone by Birmingham in the end. It was a game that they saw a lot more of the ball but did not create enough clear scoring chances which is something that needs working on. The Robins have proved explosive starters with seven goals already in the first 30 minutes from their three games in all competitions. Two of the three they have conceded this season came in the final 20 minutes. Bobby Reid has been the top scorer with three goals in two games while striking up a good understanding with new striker Famara Diedhiou who has one goal but is averaging five shots per fixture.

Bristol City Team News

They have no registered injuries or suspensions.
