Bolton Wanderers vs Fulham Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

This Saturday afternoon (15:00) fixture features two sides in opposite halves of the Championship table. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Bolton picked up an important three points last time as they won 1-0 at home to Bristol City in the Friday evening live game. Wanderers did not see as much of the ball as the Robins but netted the vital winner through Sammy Ameobi. Fulham won their fifth straight Championship game as they defeated Nottingham Forest 2-0 at Craven Cottage. They had to be patient for the breakthrough with Lucas Piazon giving them a 67th minute lead and in the 90th Stefan Johansen netted to secure all three points for the Cottagers. The reverse fixture came at the end of October and it ended in a 1-1 draw to make it two of the last three meetings to have ended all-square. Sammy Ameobi gave the Trotters the lead and they looked to be headed for all three points until Tom Cairney resuced a point for the London outfit in the 94th minute.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Bolton are no mugs at home and have beaten Bristol City and Cardiff here in recent times. I have Fulham though on a second tier (Wolves are the top tier) alongside Derby and Villa and I think they will be too strong for the hosts here and must be backed. Another bet I like is the Cottagers to win the game and both teams to score as in just one of their last nine have the Trotters fail to find the back of the net.

Bolton Wanderers Preview

The Trotters have taken points from their last five Championship fixtures a run that has moved them out of the bottom three. They are now into 20th place though face back-to-back games with top six opponents. At the Macron Stadium, it is three victories from their last four which includes defeats of Bristol City and Cardiff. The Lancashire outfit have conceded just two goals in their last five in front of their own fans keeping clean sheets in three of these. None of the last eight Bolton have played in the league have gone over 2.5 goals or seen both teams find the back of the net. Just 12% of the goals they have scored this season have come in the 15 minutes after the game starting or after the restart for the second-half.

Bolton Wanderers Team News

Darren Pratley (broken leg) is their only absentee for this game.

Fulham Preview

The Cottagers are the form side in the Championship winning five straight and going eight matches unbeaten. They are into fifth place and are just six points behind Derby who are second and occupy the automatic promotion spot. Away from Craven Cottage, they have won three of their last four and drew the other tie. No side has scored more road goals in the division this season than the London outfit who have netted 26 times with 12 of these coming from their last four. 19 of the last 23 league goals Fulham have scored this season have come in the second-half and around 68% for the season. In three of their last four they have kept a clean sheet and concededjust once in the other.

Fulham Team News

Sheyi Ojo (unknown) and Tom Cairney (knee) are doubts.
