Bologna vs Pescara Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

Bologna will look to get back to winning ways in the Serie A when they welcome the already-relegated Pescara at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara on Sunday afternoon. Bologna were beaten 3-1 on the road at Empoli last time out, with their consolation goal being scored by Simone Verdi. Meanwhile, Pescara lost 0-1 at home at the hands of Crotone last weekend, despite the fact that they had a better ball possession than the visitors. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news and match stats all in our SBAT preview.

Betting Predictions and Tips

With Pescara already relegated in the Serie B, I’m expecting Bologna to continue their good run of form at home and to pick up another comfortable win here. In addition, Bologna are unbeaten in their five home meetings with Pescara across all competitions, scoring 2 goals in two of these games.

Bologna Preview

Bologna managed an excellent 4-0 home victory over Udinese a fortnight ago, but they succumbed to a 3-1 away loss at Empoli last weekend. Overall, the Rossoblu have only won once in their last six games in the Serie A. This leaves Bologna in 15th in the league table with 38 points under their belts after 35 rounds, ten points clear of the drop zone with three games to go. Conceding has been Bologna’s main issue throughout the season, as they have one of the most leakiest defences in the division with 52 goals conceded in 35 league games. Actually, they have allowed at least three goals in three of their last five games in the Serie A. The good news is that Bologna looked a little bit better on home soil recently, winning two of their last three home league fixtures, while scoring four goals in each of these. In addition, Bologna are unbeaten in their five home meetings with Pescara across all competitions, registering two wins and three draws in the process. Mattia Destro and Blerim Dzemaili have been Bologna’s most dangerous players in front of goal so far this season, as the pair bagged 17 goals and three assists between them.

Bologna Team News

Mattia Destro, Blerim Dzemaili, Juan Manuel Valencia and Sadiq Umar are all doubts, but Adam Nagy and Fabrizio Brignani are still missing through injury. In addition, Daniele Gastaldello is out through suspension.

Pescara Preview

On the other hand, Pescara are definitely the worst team in the division as they've only won two of their 35 league games this season. The Delfini are rock bottom of the league table with just 14 points to their name and are already relegated in the Serie B. Pescara enter the fray on the back of a ten-game winless streak in the Serie A, losing nine and drawing once in this term. The most worrying fact is that Pescara have failed to score in four of their most recent five league fixtures. Pescara have been awful at both ends of the field throughout this Serie A campaign, but their biggest problems have been at the back. They have conceded 76 goals in 35 rounds, which is the worst defensive record in the division. Furthermore, Pescara are the worst away team in the division as they have collected just six points from their 17 league trips. They have lost seven of their eight away games in the Serie A and failed to score in four of these. Gianluca Caprari and Ahmad Benali have both enjoyed a decent Serie A campaign, as the pair bagged 14 and four assists between them.

Pescara Team News

Davide Vitturini and Ahmad Benali are both out through injury, while Gianluca Caprari, Francesco Zampano, Simone Pepe and Hugo Armando Campagnaro are all doubts. The good news is that Guglielmo Stendardo and Alberto Gilardino are both back in training.
