Blackburn Rovers vs Queens Park Rangers Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

This Saturday afternoon (15:00) fixture features two sides in the top-half of the Championship. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Blackburn picked up a useful point on the road last time as they drew 1-1 at the Hawthorns against West Brom. A Harrison Reed goal give them a point that their performance probably did not merit.

QPR picked up all three points as they beat Aston Villa 1-0 to make it three straight victories and five without a defeat. Pawel Wszolek got the goal though the three points probably flattered the Rs.

These two sides were in different divisions last season so you must go back to 2016/17 with two league meetings and one in the FA Cup. Rovers won two of these and are unbeaten in their last five with the London outfit.

Betting Tips and Predictions

At the prices I think Blackburn are perhaps being a little under-rated but given their injury list I would just about be put off backing them. QPR are playing well and are full of confidence though rode their luck to beat Villa.

It is better to look at some of the other markets and I think the London outfit will come here to frustrate. This game could have to wait for goals so take no early goal which is set at 30:00 and the second-half to be the highest scoring 45 minutes.

NO goal before 30:00

Second-half to be the highest scoring 45 minutes

Blackburn Rovers Preview

Rovers are without a win in two but have lost just one of their last four which means they are keeping track of the top six. They are in 12th place just three points of sixth with none of their next five against teams in the top eight.

At Ewood Park, they have lost just once this season (to Sheffield United),winning two and drawing four. Three of the last four the Lancashire outfit have played in front of their own fans have seen both teams score.

Blackburn have netted just 18 times this season which is a middle-tier record and they have just four in their last five. The defence is also mid-level with 20 conceded with only eight of these coming at home.

Blackburn Rovers Team News

Jack Rodwell (back), Charlie Mulgrew, Darragh Lenihan (both hip), Ryan Nyambe (hamstring) and Jacob Davenport (also hip) are doubts while Dominic Samuel and Ben Gladwin (both knee) have both been ruled out for the season.

Queens Park Rangers Preview

The Rs are unbeaten in five winning four of these and since August have lost on just two occasions. They are up to tenth in the table and face none of the top ten in their next fixtures.

Away from Loftus Road, they have won their last two and lost just one of the previous five matches. The London outfit have kept a clean sheet in each of their last two on the road and three of their last five.

QPR have scored just 15 goals this season though six in their last three suggests the attacking side of their game is improving. Defence has been key with 19 conceded but this is even more impressive if you take out seven which came in one game with West Brom.

Queens Park Rangers Team News

Darnell Furlong (ligament) is building up fitness after a long absence while Olamide Shodipo (thigh) is set to miss the next few months.
