Blackburn Rovers vs Millwall Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

This Saturday afternoon (15:00) fixture from Ewood Park features two sides who drew their openers. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats. Blackburn looked to be on course for all three points from their trip to Portman Road but were pegged back in the 90th minute and had to settle for a point. Danny Graham and Bradley Dack got their goals in what was an encouraging start to life back in the Championship. Millwall also thought they were on course for an opening day victory but conceded two goals in the final three minutes against Middlesbrough. Aiden O’Brien and Lee Gregory netted for the London outfit. These two sides have not met since 2015 so it is difficult to read too much into the head-to-head records. For what it is worth Rovers are unbeaten in their last five meetings with the Lions.

Betting Tips and Predictions

This looks a tough game to call between a Blackburn side with strong home form last season and a Millwall side who looked good on the road in the last campaign. Both teams started the season with a draw and for those wanting to play the match market that might be the most likely occurrence here. Jake Cooper had a couple of chances for the Lions in their opener and he goes off at decent odds in the first goalscorer market. If Rovers do net then it will most likely come from Bradley Dack or Danny Graham and it is the former at slightly bigger prices who is the anytime scorer play.

Blackburn Rovers Preview

Rovers made Ewood Park a fortress last season in League One losing on just two occasions winning 15 of 23 matches. They have not lost their since an FA Cup tie in January and in the league since September 16th. The 46 goals they netted at their own ground last season was the highest in the division and they will hope to keep that up in the Championship. Their defence was the third best at their own ground conceding just 20 times from 23 matches. Bradley Dack who netted at the weekend has found the back of the net four times in his last five in front of his own fans. Seven of their last 11 at home have seen both teams find the back of the net.

Blackburn Rovers Team News

Ben Gladwin (knee), Jacob Davenport (hip) and Sam Hart (thigh) are all doubts.

Millwall Preview

The Lions struggled on the road last season winning just seven times though they did only lose eight drawing the same number of times. They did lose just one of their last ten on the road winning seven of these. A lack of road goals was an issue last season with just 23 netted though they did net 18 from their last 11 showing they were finding the right formula. They have netted at least two goals in four of their last six on the road. Millwall excelled at defending on the road with the 24 they conceded the joint-fourth best in the division. They kept clean-sheets in five of their last nine league matches played away from the Den.

Millwall Team News

They have no injury worries or suspensions ahead of this game.
