Besiktas vs FC Porto Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

Besiktas will look to extend their lead at the top of the Champions League group G table when they welcome FC Porto at the Venue Vodafone Stadyumu on Tuesday afternoon. Besiktas fought back from one-goal down to secure a 1-1 home draw against Monaco last time out in group G thanks to a penalty-goal from Cenk Tosun. On the other hand, FC Porto win 3-1 at home over RB Leipzig thanks to goals from Danilo Pereira, Maximiliano Pereira and Hector Herrera. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news, match stats and odds all in our SBAT preview. Feel free to visit our Bet of the day page to check our best daily tips.

Betting Predictions and Tips

Besiktas managed an unexpected 1-3 victory in Portugal in the reverse fixture, but Porto are favourites in this tie despite that result. Besiktas’ home form over the past seven months has seen them lose just once in their last 15 games across all competitions, while Porto recorded just one loss in their last twelve away games. With both sides in good shape at the moment, I’m expecting goals at both ends of the field.

Besiktas Preview

Besiktas have the chance to wrap up both qualification and first place in group G if they manage to secure at least one point from their meeting with FC Porto on Tuesday night. Besiktas have been one of the biggest surprise packages of this qualifying process as they are very close to secure the top spot of a group with Porto, RB Leipzig and the last seasons Semifinalists Monaco. The Turks sit at the top of the group G table with four points more than the second-placed FC Porto. Their defence has been the main reason for their performances throughout this group campaign, as they only conceded three goals in four rounds. Besiktas are currently on a seven-game unbeaten streak across all competitions, but it has to be said that four of these have ended in draws. Actually, the Turkish side drew their last five home games across all competitions, including a 1-1 stalemate against Monaco at the beginning of November. The good news is that Besiktas have only lost once in their last 19 European home fixtures and are currently on an eleven-game unbeaten streak. The bad thing is that Besiktas have lost their both home meetings with FC Porto in Europe, scoring just once in this term.

Besiktas Team News

Gokhan Tore and Atinc Nukan are both missing through injury, while Pepe is a doubt. The good news is that Caner Erkin and Denys Boyko are both back in training.

FC Porto Preview

Meanwhile, FC Porto are in a decent position to qualify for the knockout stages, but they need to secure at least four points from the remaining two games against Besiktas and Monaco. The Portuguese side currently sit second in the group G table with six points to their name after four rounds thanks to a record of two wins and two defeats. Porto have lost 3-2 on the road at RB Leipzig a month ago, but they revived themselves since then and come into this clash on the back of a six-game unbeaten streak across all competitions, winning five in the process. Porto have been scoring goals for fun recently, as they managed to find the back of the net at least twice in five of their last six competitive fixtures. Actually, they are the group’s topscorers with nine goals under their belts after four rounds. Their away form over the past four months has also been good as Porto have only lost once in their last twelve games across all competitions. The bad news is that Porto have only lost once in their last four away games in the Champions League and have failed to score in two of these. Vincent Aboubakar is definitely a player to watch here as he already helped the team with three goals and one assist in his three group appearances.

FC Porto Team News

Moussa Marega, Otavio, Ribeiro de Freitas Fabiano and Francisco das Chagas Soares are all doubts ahead of this clash.
