Bayern Munich vs Freiburg Match Prediction

By William Hall

Bayern Munich welcome Freiburg to the Allianz Arena this weekend in the Bundesliga, and with the home side coming into this one off the back of two straight draws, they will be looking to get back to winning ways on Saturday. Freiburg find themselves in some good form in the Bundesliga losing just once in their last five outings, but with three draws in that time, it hasn't seen them climb to high up the table. Read on for a full match preview complete with all our best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

For me, there is only going to be one winner this weekend, but with Bayern Munich priced at 1/14, it is not even worth to stick in your accumulator. Although the home team have had a couple of poor results in the Bundesliga of late, they are still one of the most talented teams in the league, and when they are at their best, they will beat anyone in the world. Robert Lewandowski is up their with some of the best strikers in the world and having scored eight goals in just seven games this season; it shows he makes it difficult for any side to stop him. Yes, Freiburg have been on some good form of late, picking up some very valuable points. However, away from home, they have struggled in the league, losing five of their last six games on the road and drawing the other. With them coming up against arguably the best-attacking side in the league this weekend, they will find it extremely tough to keep a clean sheet.

Bayern Munich Preview

As it stands Bayern Munich have failed to find their best form this season, currently sat five points behind Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund. However, with the sacking of former manager Carlo Ancelotti and the appointment of Josef Heynckes, the home fans this weekend will be hoping it will turn around very quickly. Two draws in the sides last two Bundesliga games has seen them lose touching distance with Dortmund, but they will know it is a long season, and a lot can happen between now and the end of the season. The most frustrating thing for Bayern Munich is in both of the draws they have had, they have been leading 2-0 but let it slip. Last season if they went 2-0 up they would go on and with by five or six. Things just haven't been right at the club this season, but with the new manager in place, this could be the turning point.

Bayern Munich Team News

Bayern Munich have six players out injured for this one with Juan Bernat (ankle injury), Thiago Alcantara (sprained ankle), David Alaba (ankle injury), Niklas Sule (thigh injury), Frank Ribery (knee injury) and Manuel Neuer (broken foot) all sidelined.

Freiburg Preview

Freiburg have been in some excellent form in the Bundesliga, losing just once in their last five games. However, they are still just three points above the relegation zone having drawn three of the games in their previous five. They have already proven they can compete with the best teams in the league after holding Borussia Dortmund to a 0-0 draw several weeks ago. A lack of goals has been the real concern for the away team this weekend, scoring just five in their opening seven games. In the opening seven games they have played, they have been involved in three 0-0 draws which will be frustrating considering two of those were against teams around them in the league.

Freiburg Team News

Freiburg also have six players who will miss the game with Georg Niedermaier (back injury), Jonas Meffert (foot injury), Vincent Sierra (muscle injury), Amir Abrashi (ankle injury), Manuel Gulde (back injury) and Mar-Oliver Kempf (muscle injury) all out.
