Bayer Leverkusen vs Wolfsburg Match Prediction

By William Hall

11th take on 12th in the Bundesliga this weekend with Bayer Leverkusen welcoming Wolfsburg to the BayArena on Sunday afternoon. Bayer Leverkusen have picked up four points from their last two games beating Hmaburg before playing out a 1-1 draw in Schalke. Wolfsburg have lost just once in their previous four games, but have also failed to win in that time meaning they have played put four draws in recent times. This shows they lack that big of firepower in the final third to be able to go out and gain all three points. Wit both teams looking so evenly matched at this stage of the season, this one could be a good watch. Read on for a full match preview complete with all our best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Whenever these two sides play, you can be sure to see plenty of goals. In fact, in 17 out of the last 18 times these two have met each other, the over 2.5 goals market has been smashed. Both teams are looking very evenly matched going into this encounter and with the two of them looking a bit dodgy at the back, I really can't see there being a shortage of goals this weekend. As it stands, Bayer Leverkusen have the more inform striker going into the match which could work in their favour come the end of the game. However, with the quality Wolfsburg do have going forward, you can't write them off going and bagging at least one this weekend. Wolfsburg will be feeling a lot better about themselves going into this one after coming back from 2-0 to draw with Bayern Munich away from home but will need a repeat of that second half performance if they are going to get anything from a very stubborn Leverkusen side. Below are my very best betting tips and predictions for the match.

Bayer Leverkusen Preview

Bayer Leverkusen have been very hit and miss this season, but recent form would suggest they are starting to do the right things one again. A 3-0 win over Hamburg a couple of weeks ago would have filled them with confidence before picking up a point away to Schalke, which is always a tough place to go. It's been German forward Kevin Volland who has run away with the goal for the Leverkusen this season scoring four goals in seven matches. This is a definite improvement for the player after scoring just six goals in the entire of the previous campaign. The Bay Arena is where Leverkusen tend to pick up the majority of their points, making it a tough place for sides to go. In their last two games at home, they have won 4-0 and 3-0 showing they are thriving paying in front of those home fans.

Bayer Leverkusen Team News

Bayer Leverkusen have just the one player out this weekend with Tun Jedvaj recovering from a shin injury.

Wolfsburg Preview

Wolfsburg have done very well recently of not losing games, back the lack of wins has stopped them climbing to high up the table. In fact, in their last five games in the Bundesliga they have drawn four, and with a couple of those games being ones they should have done better, they will be slightly disappointed. When you look at the squad Wolfsburg have and see the likes of Divock Origi and Mario Gomez up top, you would expect them to be full of goals. However, with just one goal between the pair this season, there is defiantly still plenty of room for improvement. The last time Wolfsburg played away, they managed to bag themselves famous result, coming from two goals behind to draw with Bayern Munich. Another performance like they showed in the second half that day and they stand every chance this weekend.

Wolfsburg Team News

Wolfsburg have six players who will miss the trip to Leverkusen with Gian-Luca Itter (thigh injury), Maximillian Arnold (stomach trouble), Sebastian Jung (ankle injury), Jeffrey Bruma (knee injury), John Brooks (thigh injury) and Paul-Georges Ntep De Madiba (suspension) all out.
