Arsenal vs Wolverhampton Wanderers Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Arsenal kept their unbeaten run after a late 1-1 draw with rivals Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium. The game witnessed plenty of chances at both ends of the pitch but it was Liverpool who had the first blood after James Milner’s 61st-minute goal. Arsenal kept their unbeaten streak going with an 82nd-minute goal from Alexandre Lacazette. The Gunners, though, could only muster a goalless draw with Sporting Lisbon at home in the Europa League. Wolves have lost three consecutive games after a 3-2 defeat against Spurs last weekend. It was an excellent performance from Nuno’s men as they came extremely close to cancelling out the three goals from Spurs, who scored through Erik Lamela, Lucas Mora, and Harry Kane. Two penalties from Ruben Neves and Raul Jimenez almost helped Wolves snatch a deserved point.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Wolves have been playing some brilliant football and certainly do not deserve to be in the bottom half of the table. However, they travel to the Emirates Stadium on the back of three consecutive losses. Arsenal have players like Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette on good form. The last two matches for the Gunners have concluded as draws and a third consecutive home match may give a route to end this run. However, Wolves have rarely let their heads drop this season and I would opt for a draw.

Alexandre Lacazette was able to conclude his three-game goalless streak with the equaliser against Liverpool last weekend. The Frenchman has been Arsenal’s decisive player with his hold up play being crucial to bringing others like Mesut Ozil on form. I would back Alexandre Lacazette to score anytime in the match.

Arsenal Preview

Unai Emery continues to get plenty of plaudits for helping transform Arsenal, who may have completely forgotten about Arsene Wenger in recent weeks. Even though the Arsenal team still have some issues, they have been able to get some impressive results along the way. The Gunners were expected to remain in a fight for the top four places, but the season has progressed in such a way that Arsenal have hung on for a potential title battle going into the second half of the campaign. Emery has impressed with his ability to get the best out of the team even whilst missing several key players.

Arsenal Team News

Nacho Monreal (hamstring), Laurent Koscielny (Achilles tendon), Danny Welbeck (ankle), Mohamed Elneny (thigh), and Konstantinos Mavropanos (groin) are missing from action for Arsenal.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Preview

It is remarkable that Wolves have suffered three consecutive defeats. Nuno’s team have been playing brilliant football that certainly deserves much more than the 15 points tally from the first 11 matches. Yet, it remains to be seen if the string of winless matches may rob the team of confidence and momentum going into a period of plenty of matches are about to hit the team. The form of players like Ruben Neves and Raul Jimenez continues to dictate the team – the latter is the top scorer with three league goals.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Team News

Diogo Jota is the only player unavailable for Wolves.
