Arsenal vs West Ham United Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Arsenal’s disastrous Premier League campaign took another turn for the worse after a 2-1 loss against Newcastle United at St James’ Park. Alexandre Lacazette’s opening goal inside 15 minutes provided Arsenal with a lot of belief, but the smiles were wiped out after just 14 minutes with Ayoze Perez scoring the equaliser. A second-half goal from Matt Ritchie completed the comeback for Rafa Benitez and his men. West Ham are unbeaten in three after a 1-1 draw with Stoke City at the London Stadium. Stoke forward Peter Crouch sent the away fans in joyous mood after giving the visitors a lead with 11 minutes remaining in the game. However, the joy was cut short by Andy Carroll’s late equaliser.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

A tough London derby once again makes it difficult for Arsenal to get a positive Premier League this weekend. The gunners are feeling the heat from Burnley, who are just two points behind in the league table. Finishing seventh in the table would be the worst possible outcome for Arsenal, as teams that finish in this position have to go through a play-off in order to reach the group stages of the Europa League. West Ham have lost five out of the recent six visits to the Emirates, but the presence of Carroll changes the dynamic of his game. Furthermore, Arsenal are likely to rest players due to the midweek Europa League semi-final. I see value behind a draw.

Arsenal are likely to struggle with Carroll’s physical threat. This West Ham team has been able to score in 15 out of their last 16 league matches since the goalless draw with Arsenal at home. However, both teams enter into the match with a decent scoring form. I would choose both teams to score.

Arsenal Preview

Arsenal have just come to an end of an incredible era, as Arsene Wenger has announced his decision to step down as the manager. The Frenchman will be leaving Arsenal after more than two decades in charge of the club. For the time being, however, the club’s entire efforts will be towards the upcoming Europa League semi-final with Atletico Madrid. This competition represents the only option for Arsenal to reach the Champions League next season and qualification to this tournament will allow Wenger to leave on a high.

Arsenal Team News

Aaron Ramsey (calf), Jack Wilshere (ankle), Henrikh Mkhitaryan (ligament), and Santi Cazorla (Achilles tendon) are the players unavailable for Arsenal.

West Ham United Preview

The run of three consecutive unbeaten matches is a positive for West Ham, who are still not mathematically safe from relegation. The hammers also have a tough run of matches to conclude the campaign with none of their last five opponents from the bottom half. As a result, David Moyes will not be in a relaxed mood ahead of the remaining five matches – even if West Ham are three places about the bottom three. The return of Andy Carroll is a huge positive for the club in these five games, as the striker is someone who can dominate opponents with his physical presence in the box.

West Ham United Team News

David Moyes will be without James Collins (hamstring), Sam Byram (ankle), Winston Reid (knee), Michail Antonio (hamstring), and Pedro Mba Obiang (ligament) due to injuries.
