Arsenal vs Burnley Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Arsenal have gone from a team that simply could not lose matches into a team that has lost back-to-back games following a 2-0 loss against Spurs in the midweek League Cup encounter. Son Heung-Min and Dele Alli scored in either half for Spurs. During the weekend, the Gunners lost 3-2 against Southampton. Even though Henrikh Mkhitaryan was able to cancel out goals from Danny Ings on two occasions, a late header from Charlie Austin sealed Arsenal’s first defeat in 23 matches. Burnley were beaten 1-0 by Spurs in a poor performance from Sean Dyche’s men at the Wembley Stadium. Burnley decided to park the bus and almost came close to getting a point before Christian Eriksen’s late winner.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Burnley are hoping to avoid a ninth consecutive defeat against Arsenal and this trend started almost a decade ago in March 2010. Even though Arsenal are on a two-game losing streak, they have enough firepower to get past an offensively poor Burnley team. The Clarets are expected to park the bus, but Arsenal will push to end their two-game losing streak. It makes me go with a home win and under 2.5 goals.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has missed several good opportunities in recent weeks. After having been extremely efficient in front of goal in the first few months, the 29-year-old is guilty of missing several good opportunities. Even then, I would back the Gabon striker to score anytime in the game.

Arsenal win and total goals under 3.5 – 11/10

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to score anytime – 4/9

Arsenal Preview

The Gunners have lost back-to-back games for the first time since the opening weekend and it severely rocks the team’s confidence going into a mammoth run of games. Arsenal are set to face four games in the space of 10 days – including games against Liverpool and Fulham. Emery will be disappointed with his team’s exit from the League Cup since the manager appeared to take the competition more seriously with a strong starting line-up against Spurs. The defensive mistakes are proving too costly for the team while they are unable to convert chances at the other end.

Arsenal Team News

Konstantinos Mavropanos (groin), Shkodran Mustafi (hamstring), Sead Kolasinac (thigh), Danny Welbeck (broken ankle), Hector Bellerin (calf), Rob Holding (cruciate ligament), and Emile Smith-Rowe (hip) are unavailable for Unai Emery.

Burnley Preview

The Clarets remain firmly in the grip of relegation fear with the team unable to get any positivity into their play. It is not a secret that Burnley have not been dependent on goals in order to keep them afloat in the Premier League, but may have been dependent on a strong defence that gave a little in the 2017-18 campaign. Even though the recent match against Spurs could have almost produced a second consecutive clean sheet for the Clarets, there is an obvious lack of confidence throughout the team when it comes to defence. Johann Gudmundsson has been the best player at Burnley by a huge margin.

Burnley Team News

Steven Defour (calf) and Aaron Lennon (knee) are the players unavailable for Burnley.
