Betting Tips and Predictions

There’s real pressure on both teams to get a result here after difficult starts to the season, that have left each side in the bottom five. I can see Arsenal getting the victory, but they will have to work hard for it.

Arsenal Preview

As far as low points of Arsene Wenger’s reign at Arsenal go, the nature of their 4-0 defeat at Anfield last weekend can’t have been too far from rock bottom as the Gunners went down with a whimper. Both Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane netted in the first half for the Reds, as Wenger elected to switch to a back four to start the second half. It took Mohamed Salah just twelve seconds to score after an Arsenal corner to make it 3-0, before substitute Daniel Sturridge headed in a fourth with minimal challenge from an Arsenal defender. Alexis Sanchez returned to the Arsenal team for the meeting and he could feature once again this weekend after failing to seal a move away from the Emirates Stadium on transfer deadline day. Alexandre Lacazette was a surprising omission from the starting XI at Anfield also and the Frenchman will surely be restored to the team this weekend. Currently 16th in the table, Arsenal will now be relying on extending their recent home form to climb their way back up the table, having won their last six in a row on home turf. Their next four at the Emirates sees them face Bournemouth, West Brom, Brighton and Swansea and they will target maximum points from those upcoming fixtures.

Arsenal Team News

Calum Chambers (groin), Santi Cazorla (achilles) and Alex Iwobi (thigh) are all sidelined through injury. Alexandre Lacazette will be pushing to start after watching on from the bench at Anfield last weekend.

AFC Bournemouth Preview

Bournemouth were within minutes of picking up their first point of the season last time out, eventually going down 2-1 to Manchester City through a late goal. Charlie Daniels put the Cherries in front with an extremely early contender for goal of the season, as his shot crashed in off the crossbar from a difficult angle. City’s response, though, was swift and clinical as David Silva played in Gabriel Jesus, who in turn slotted confidently past Asmir Begovic in the Bournemouth goal. Despite it looking likely that the Cherries would hold on for a point, Raheem Sterling netted in the seventh minute of stoppage time to deliver a serious blow to Eddie Howe’s team as they look to finally get off the mark for the season. They are now one of three clubs yet to register a point in the Premier League alongside West Ham and Crystal Palace; both of which seem to have significantly more pressure on their manager’s shoulders. Howe has rightfully accrued credit in the bank for the work he has done at the club over the years, but will be well aware that the board will be fully expecting results to start going their way sooner than later.

AFC Bournemouth Team News

Captain Simon Francis (hamstring) is a doubt for the visitors, while winger Junior Stanislas (hernia) and forward Callum Wilson (cruciate ligament) are both ruled out.
