Apollon Limassol vs Everton Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

The bottom two teams of the Europa League group E table will square off on Thursday night, as Apollon Limassol welcome Everton at the Neo GSP. APollon suffered a thrashing 4-0 defeat on the road at Lyon last time out in the Europa League, with Sofronis Avgousti’s men conceding two goals in each half. Meanwhile, Everton were thrashed 1-5 at home by Atalanta two weeks ago, with their consolation goal being scored by Sandro Ramirez. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news, match stats and odds all in our SBAT preview. Feel free to visit our Bet of the day page to check our best daily tips.

Betting Predictions and Tips

Everton will definitely rest some key players here as they will be involved in the Merseyside derby this weekend as they ‘travel’ to Liverpool. This makes me backing Apollon to win as they have been a strong side on home soil over the past few weeks. In addition, Everton are winless in their last ten away games across all competitions.

Apollon Limassol Preview

Apollon Limassol have failed to win any of their opening five group fixtures throughout this Europa League campaign, but at least they managed to secure three draws in the process. This leaves them third in the group E table with three points under their belts after five rounds and they were already eliminated from the competition since matchday five. Overall, Apollon Limassol have enjoyed a good run of form over the past three months, having lost just twice in their last 15 games across all competitions. At home, Apollon are currently on a nine-game unbeaten streak across all competitions, including a 1-1 draw against Atalanta in their most recent Europa League home fixtures. Actually, Apollon haven’t lost a single game on home soil throughout this group stage campaign. They looked very solid at the back on home soil recently, having kept four clean sheets in their last six home games. Domestically, Apollon find themselves only in 5th position in the standings with 25 points after eleven rounds, seven points adrift of the current leaders AEK Larnaca but with three games in hand. Anton Maglica and Emilio Zelaya have been Apollon’s most prolific players in front of goal throughout their First Division campaign, having scored six goals each.

Apollon Limassol Team News

Anton Maglica is the only injury absentee for Apollon ahead of this game.

Everton Preview

This Europa League group stage campaign it’s already over for Everton, but the good news is that they managed to find some form recently. The Toffees come into this tie on the back of two consecutive victories in the Premier League, scoring six goals and conceding none in the process. This lifts Everton in 10th in the Premier League table with 18 points to their name, ten points off the top five. However, their Europa League group stage campaign have been one to forget, as Everton have lost four and drawn once in their five group fixtures and are currently rock bottom of the group table. Their away form over the past four months have been a complete mess, as they are winless in the last eleven away games across all competitions. The most worrying fact is that the Toffees have failed to score in five of their most recent nine away games across all competitions. Furthermore, Everton have only won once in their last five Europa League trips and have registered two consecutive 3-0 defeats this season. Wayne Rooney has been Everton’s most prolific player in front of goal so far this season, scoring 8 goals across all competitions.

Everton Team News

Ramiro Funes Mori, Ross Barkley and James McCarthy are all missing through injury, while Leighton Baines is a doubt.
