Anderlecht vs Bayern Munich Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

Anderlecht are still looking for their first points of their Champions League group B campaign when they welcome the already qualified Bayern Munich at the Stade Constant Vanden Stock in Brussels on Wednesday night. Anderlecht suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat on the road at Paris Saint Germain last time out in the Champions League, in a game in which they delivered just two shots on target. On the other hand, Bayern Munich managed a narrow 1-2 away win at Celtic last time out thanks to goals from Kingsley Coman and Javi Martinez. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news, match stats and odds all in our SBAT preview. Feel free to visit our Bet of the day page to check our best daily tips.

Betting Predictions and Tips

Although Bayern Munich haven’t been very convincing in their trip to Celtic last time out, they should have no problems against an Anderlecht team who have failed to score a single goal in four Champions League games, while conceding 15.

Anderlecht Preview

Anderlecht are yet to collect a single point in their Champions League group B campaign after suffering defeats in each of their four group fixtures. The Belgians hold the both worst defensive and attacking records in this Champions League group stage campaign, conceding 15 goals and scoring none in four rounds. Theoretically, Anderlecht still need to qualify for the Europa League knockout stages, but it’s going to require a bit of a miracle as they need to secure a point here and beat Celtic in the final round. Domestically, Anderlecht have had a poor start to the season, but they managed to put their campaign back on track and they now sit third in the standings with 28 points after 15 rounds, just three points of the second-placed Charleroi. Anderlecht need a positive result here, but their recent Champions League home record has been terrible as they have lost eight of their last nine home fixtures. In addition, they have only won once in their last five meetings with Bayern Munich in the Champions League and Europa League. Furthermore, the Belgians have failed to score a single goal in three of their last four meetings with Bayern Munich across all competitions.

Anderlecht Team News

Pieter Gerkens, Emmanuel Sowah Adjei, Ivan Obradovic and Kara are all doubts, but Andy Najar is back in training.

Bayern Munich Preview

Bayern Munich have already qualified for the knockout stages of the competition, having collected nine points from their four group fixtures. Their sole defeat throughout this group stage campaign came at the hands of Paris Saint Germain two months ago, but they are still looking to snatch the top spot. They are just three points behind PSG and they will face the Parisiens in the final group fixture. The worrying thing is that Bayern’s away record in Europe hasn’t been that good as their 2-1 victory at Celtic last time out was just their third in their last ten European away fixtures. However, the Bavarian’s recent away record has been decent as they have won four and draw once in their last five games across all competitions. They have been scoring goals for fun recently and they should be able to continue their goalscoring form against an Anderlecht side who holds the worst defensive in this Champions League group stage campaign. Furthermore, the Bavarians have netted ten goals in their last three meetings with Anderlecht in Europe. Surprisingly, Joshua Kimmich has been Bayern’s topscorer throughout this Champions League campaign with two goals and one assist under his belt.

Bayern Munich Team News

Manuel Neuer is still out through injury until April 2018, while Kingsley Coman and Thiago Alcantara are both doubts. The good news is that Franck Ribery and Thomas Muller are both back in training.
