Deportivo Alaves vs Las Palmas Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Deportivo Alaves produced an excellent comeback to pick up a 3-2 win over Girona during the weekend. The home team established a 2-0 lead after goals from Christian Stuani and Juanpe in three second-half minutes. However, Ibai Gomez came up with a stunning 19-minute hat-trick – including an injury time winner – to give Alaves the second away win of the season. Las Palmas utilised home advantage for a 1-0 win over Real Betis. Las Palmas had plenty of chances to win the game, but it was a 19th minute goal from Jonathan Calleri that gave three points for the home team. Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

This match may be a six-pointer, but Deportivo Alaves come into this fixture as the strong favourites owing to their recent form. After winning three out of the last five in all competitions, Alaves’ confidence will be high. Further, Las Palmas do not have the greatest away record with five defeats in seven. Yet, both games between these two teams in the 2016-17 season finished as a stalemate. Las Palmas have drawn their last three away games against Alaves. A draw seems the likely outcome in this game. Las Palmas may have failed to score in four out of the last five league matches on the road, but the team had a positive attacking performance against Real Betis during the weekend. Alaves have kept just two clean sheets in 14 games. I see reasonable value in backing both teams to score.

Deportivo Alaves Preview

Deportivo Alaves have finally managed to pull together a string of positive results – if the Copa del Rey games are taken into account. Alaves have picked up three wins in the last five games across all competitions. Surprisingly, the team has fared better on the road with two wins from seven, while they have picked up just one win in the home matches. Deportivo Alaves are only team in the La Liga 2017-18 campaign not to be involved in a draw. The team has been involved in three wins and 11 defeats from the 14 matches. Ibai Gomez has become the top scorer following his hat-trick against Girona.

Deportivo Alaves Team News

Victor Laguardia (cruciate ligament), Ruben Sobrino (groin), Hector Hernandez Ortega (knee), Rodrigo Ely (thigh), and Carlos Martin Vigaray (knee) are the players unavailable for Deportivo Alaves.

Las Palmas Preview

The end to the eight-game winless run comes as a major relief for Las Palmas, and it also significantly boosts the club’s hopes of avoiding relegation. After being stuck to the bottom of the table for the last couple of weeks, Las Palmas are now just two points away from safety. After conceding a whopping 19 goals in the last six league matches, Las Palmas will be delighted at keeping a clean sheet during the weekend. This bodes well for the team going into the fixtures before the winter break starts. Loic Remy remains the key player for the club with four goals, although Jonathan Calleri is not far behind with three goals.

Las Palmas Team News

Las Palmas will be without Momo (neck), Pedro Bigas (leg), Victor Vitolo (hamstring), and Alen Halilovic (ankle) due to injuries. Tana (muscle) is doubtful for the game.
