AFC Bournemouth vs Swansea City Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Bournemouth are sleepwalking towards the end of the 2017-18 Premier League campaign after a 2-1 defeat against Southampton, who are in the bottom three. Dusan Tadic broke away from a Bournemouth corner to score the opening goal of the game after 25 minutes. Josh King, though, provided a major setback for Southampton by coming up with the equaliser just before half-time. Tadic, though, restored Southampton’s lead minutes into the second half. Swansea City’s relegation threat has increased after a 1-0 loss against Chelsea. Cesc Fabregas scored inside the opening four minutes, but Swansea’s threat did not pay off due to a lack of cutting edge.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Bournemouth will be desperate to end the poor run of form that has plagued the club since the start of March. A game against Swansea represents a great antidote for this winless run, as Bournemouth have picked up three wins and lost none against the Welsh outfit in the last five meetings. Especially in the last two meetings at the Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth have been able to get wins under their belt. Swansea lack a big threat going forward and I would opt for a Bournemouth win.

Swansea have failed to score in three out of the last four away matches. The club’s attacking threat is so weak that even Bournemouth can hope to get a clean sheet at the Vitality Stadium for the first time since November. However, Bournemouth have been poor at the back and Swansea’s motivation to get something out of this game is likely to see goals at both ends.

AFC Bournemouth Preview

Just a few weeks ago, Bournemouth looked like being in a position to challenge for a European spot alongside the likes of Everton and Burnley. However, manager Eddie Howe has been unable to prevent his players from going into a slumber once their Premier League safety was confirmed. Even though Bournemouth can still be relegated, it would it take a remarkable set of results for such an occurrence. The current winless streak for the Cherries is now at five matches – a far cry from the eight-game winless run earlier in the campaign. However, the team now appears to lack motivation to get themselves out of the loop.

AFC Bournemouth Team News

Harry Arter (Achilles tendon), Adam Smith (ligament), Rhoys Wiggins (knee), and Junior Stanislas (knee) are missing from action for Bournemouth.

Swansea City Preview

The appointment of Carlos Carvalhal provided an immediate improvement in results and Swansea did extremely well to lift themselves out of the bottom three after being at the bottom for much of the campaign. However, results have been rather poor of late and Swansea can be dragged into the bottom three at the worst possible time. Swansea have done reasonably well in terms of performances, but they have been let down by the lack of a clinical finisher up front. This is a Swansea outfit with only two league goals in the last six games.

Swansea City Team News

Wilfried Bony (cruciate ligament), Leroy Fer (Achilles tendon), Kyle Bartley (knee), Luciano Narsingh (ankle), and Federico Fernandez (knee) are the players on the treatment table for Carlos Carvalhal’s team.
