AFC Bournemouth vs Manchester United Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Bournemouth were able to enjoy a comfortable 3-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage in their last Premier League outing. Wilson’s early penalty provided comfort for the Cherries, who capitalised on Kevin MacDonald’s sending off in the second half to grab to further goals late in the match. David Brooks and Wilson came up with those goals to hand a big win for Bournemouth, who beat Norwich City 2-1 in the midweek League Cup game. United picked up a second league win in five games after beating Everton 2-1 at Old Trafford. A fortuitous penalty decision helped Paul Pogba break the deadlock in the 27th minute, while Anthony Martial’s fine finish put United in a commanding position. Everton pulled one back through Gylfi Sigurdsson’s late penalty but there was not to be an equaliser for Marco Silva’s men.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Manchester United make the trip to the Vitality Stadium with a decent record on this ground, but the Cherries have been on such a good run of form that it is difficult to look beyond the home team. Bournemouth have lost only twice this season with the club being poor in just one of those games. United may push forward to capitalise on the form of players like Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial, but they are too exposed at the back. I would back a win for Bournemouth or Draw.

Bournemouth have a strong presence going forward with the likes of Callum Wilson on good form. United, meanwhile, have players like Martial and Pogba in good form. Even if Mourinho decides to drop Romelu Lukaku for a second consecutive game, United are likely to look at forward options every time they receive the ball. The Cherries do look offensively strong and I would back over 2.5 goals in the match.

AFC Bournemouth Preview

Bournemouth’s impressive start to the campaign means that the top five places are not far away from their reach. It has been a remarkable run up in the first 10 games of the campaign and it places the club just one point behind Spurs in the first place. Even without a large squad, manager Eddie Howe has been able to get the best out of his players. Bournemouth have also been quite impressive going forward with an average of close to two goals per game so far this season. Callum Wilson’s form has been a decisive factor with the forward now up to 5 goals for the campaign.

AFC Bournemouth Team News

Joshua King (ankle) is doubtful for the game.

Manchester United Preview

Jose Mourinho saw a much better performance from his Manchester United team in the recent win over Everton but there are still plenty of issues for the Portuguese to sort out in coming weeks. United had more desire to go forward against Everton, but they were once again defensively poor and could have ended up dropping more points as a result. It is not a surprise that United have the worst defensive record amongst the top 10 teams. Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba have been impressive this season with the duo contributing 10 goals in goals and assists combined.

Manchester United Team News

Antonio Valencia (mouth) and Scott McTominay (knee) are the players unavailable for United.
