AFC Bournemouth vs Manchester United Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Bournemouth came up against a brilliant Liverpool team and fell to a 3-0 loss at Anfield during the weekend. Sadio Mane’s opening goal after just seven minutes destroyed Eddie Howe’s plans for the game, while second-half goals from Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino led to a big defeat for the cherries. Manchester United’s disastrous domestic campaign continued with the team suffering a shock 1-0 loss against West Brom at home. Jay Rodriguez headed in the only goal of the game, as United came in with a customary poor performance at Old Trafford.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Manchester United will rotate in several positions and this will give Bournemouth a great opportunity to pick up a second home win over United in three attempts. The cherries have been through a disappointing run of late, and there is a possibility of the team’s thoughts drifting into the summer holidays. A run of just one win in the last six games has been down to a poor defensive record. I would back a draw in this match.

The last two games between Manchester United and Bournemouth have ended up producing less than 2.5 goals, but the remaining three games have all been with several goals. Even though United are the lowest scorers among the top four, they can profit from Bournemouth’s recent failings in front of goal. I would pick a game with less than 2.5 goals in the match.

AFC Bournemouth Preview

Bournemouth have been suffering from a significant dip in form, and it has contributed to the club’s demise from the top half of the table. Why Bournemouth can still recover to finish in the top 10, the likelihood of the same is fast disappearing due to the recent form shown by Newcastle. The cherries have been unable to stop a leaky defence, which has conceded an incredible 13 league goals just in the last six matches. It is highly unlikely that the team will be able to recover their form in the final four matches of the campaign.

AFC Bournemouth Team News

Junior Stanislas (knee), Adam Smith (ligament), and Rhoys Wiggins (knee) are the players missing from action for Bournemouth.

Manchester United Preview

The negativity surrounding Manchester United can be wiped out with a good performance in the upcoming FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham. Jose Mourinho has already been talking a lot about this game – now that the domestic campaign has been decided. United stand to enjoy Champions League football irrespective of their recent form, as the team hold an 11-point advantage over Chelsea going into the last five matches of the campaign. United are likely to rest players coming into this game, as it would give them the best possible chance to reach the finals of the FA Cup. Staying ahead of Liverpool is a motivation indeed, but United have the potential to establish a four-point advantage going into the weekend.

Manchester United Team News

Jose Mourinho will be without Angel Gomes, Marouane Fellaini (muscle), Daley Blind (ankle), and Sergio Romero (knee) due to injuries.
