AFC Bournemouth vs Liverpool Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Bournemouth were able to register a first league victory in five after a 2-1 success over Huddersfield Town at the Vitality Stadium. Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser scored inside the first 22 minutes to put Bournemouth in a commanding position. However, Huddersfield were excellent throughout the evening and did pull one back through Terence Kongolo in the 38th minute. Liverpool were able to pick up a 3-1 victory over Turf Moor. After a difficult first half for the Reds, things got worse after Jack Cork’s opener in the 54th minute. Jurgen Klopp’s men were able to come up with a remarkable response after two quick goals from James Milner and Roberto Firmino put them in front. A late goal from Xherdan Shaqiri confirmed the three points for the visitors.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Liverpool have been able to register some big victories over Bournemouth in recent years. The two meetings in the 2017-18 campaign alone witnessed a remarkable outcome of 7-0 aggregate victory for the Reds, who may not have enjoyed the same goalscoring form this season. However, Bournemouth have been quite poor at the back of late and could have easily conceded a couple against Huddersfield during the weekend. I would back a return of over 2.5 goals and a Liverpool victory.

Mohamed Salah was able to score in both meetings against Bournemouth last season. Even though the Egyptian’s form has not been spectacular, the rest provided by missing the starting spot against Burnley will help Salah’s energy levels coming into this match. Huddersfield had several counter-attacking opportunities during the weekend and Salah can profit from the same. I would back Salah to score anytime.

AFC Bournemouth Preview

Bournemouth may have picked up a win over Huddersfield to arrest a run of consecutive defeats and even overtake Manchester United in the league table, but manager Eddie Howe will be experienced enough to know that this win merely papers over the cracks. Bournemouth have had a string of poor results while the club has not played particularly well and this was true even in the match against Huddersfield. Performances from the Cherries have to improve a lot if they are to retain the position closer to the European qualification places.

AFC Bournemouth Team News

Dan Gosling (knee) and Adam Smith (knee) are unavailable for Bournemouth.

Liverpool Preview

Jurgen Klopp has seen his Liverpool team go toe to toe with Manchester City so far this season. Even though Liverpool have not been spectacular like in the 2017-18 campaign, results have been much more consistent. The team has enjoyed a lot of balance and it is largely provided by an impressive defence, which features players like Virgil van Dijk and Alisson. As a result, even if Liverpool have not been scoring goals at the same pace as last season, they have been able to get much better results. Klopp will be keen on continuing this run and be hopeful of seeing Manchester City drop points.

Liverpool Team News

Andrew Robertson (hip), Curtis Jones (hamstring), Joe Gomez (ankle), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (cruciate ligament), Sadio Mane (foot), and Kamil Grabara (illness) are unavailable for the Reds.
