AFC Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Bournemouth showed a never-say-die attitude to pick up a 2-2 draw at Watford at Vicarage Road. Eddie Howe saw his team comeback twice in the game, as goals from Josh King and Jermain Defoe cancelled out goals from Kiko Femenia and Roberto Pereyra. Crystal Palace were unable to build on the impressive home record over Liverpool, as they slipped to a 2-1 loss. Palace took the lead in the 13th minute when the team was awarded a penalty, which was converted by Luka Milivojevic. However, Liverpool staged a stunning second-half comeback with goals from Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Bournemouth have never managed a home win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League. In fact, every team has been unable to dominate this fixture with one win apiece in the five league meetings. Draws have been the standard feature whenever these two teams have come against each other. Palace picked up a huge win in their last away match, but this Bournemouth outfit has lost only one game at home in 2018. A draw looks as the likely outcome for this fixture.

The Bournemouth outfit has had a tremendous appetite for scoring goals at home. The cherries have been unable to score more than 1.5 goals in just one of the home matches in 2018. Meanwhile, Palace continue to struggle with a poor defence. Even if they kept a clean sheet against Huddersfield Town in the last away match, it is difficult to back a repeat of the same. There is tremendous value in backing Bournemouth to score over 1.5 goals.

AFC Bournemouth Preview

Bournemouth have been quite resilient over the last few weeks – even if it has meant that the likelihood of a European qualification has gone away from the team. The team has suffered just one defeat in the last five games, but the lack of enough victories has been one of the disappointing elements. As a result, the Cherries may find it difficult to close the nine-point advantage held by Burnley when it comes to the race for Europa League qualification.

AFC Bournemouth Team News

Adam Smith (ligament), Tyrone Mings (back), Simon Francis (hamstring), Rhoys Wiggins (knee), Lys Mousset (illness), and Junior Stanislas (knee) are missing from action for manager Eddie Howe.

Crystal Palace Preview

Crystal Palace were mightily relieved to get the away victory over Huddersfield Town, but managing to hang on to their advantage over Liverpool would have lifted the club comfortably away from the drop zone. As it stands, the team will be nervous about going back into the Championship, as they only hold a two-point advantage over Southampton in 18th place. Manager Roy Hodgson has struggled with injuries but there are signs that Palace are starting to cope without some key players. It is extremely important that Crystal Palace get Christian Benteke back among the goals, as the Belgian international once again let down the team by missing some excellent opportunities against Liverpool.

Crystal Palace Team News

Crystal Palace continue to struggle with plenty of injuries, as James Tomkins (calf), Joel Ward (muscle), Alexander Sorloth (hamstring), Connor Wickham (groin), Jeffrey Schlupp (ankle), Jason Puncheon (cruciate ligament), Scott Dann (cruciate ligament), and Bakary Sako (ankle) are unavailable due to injuries.
