AFC Bournemouth vs Brighton & Hove Albion Match Prediction

By Dean Carr

Bournemouth welcome Brighton and Hove Albion to the Vitality Stadium on 15/09/17 in a must-win game for the home side. Bournemouth were comfortably beaten 3-0 by Arsenal last Saturday, as Brighton stormed to their first ever Premier League win after overcoming West Brom with a 3-1 win. Read on for a full match preview complete with betting tips and predictions.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Eddie Howe’s side have been in dreadful form to commence the new season, but I believe there’s too much quality in this team for their winless run to continue. I’m going for a Bournemouth win in this one.

AFC Bournemouth Preview

Not too much was really expected of Bournemouth away at Arsenal last weekend, but the result has left them in desperate need of a victory here following a 3-0 loss. Danny Welbeck opened the scoring for the Gunners inside the opening six minutes, before Alexandre Lacazette’s smart finish made it 2-0 before half-time. Welbeck then grabbed his second of the game early in the second half as Arsenal rode to a comfortable victory, with the closest Bournemouth came being from when Jermain Defoe hit the post. The team are still in search of their first Premier League win of the new season, having scored just once from their opening four games. Having lost to Watford and Manchester City so far, the Cherries will now hope to extend their recent record against Brighton, having done the double over the Seagulls when the two sides last faced each other in the Championship. After ending last season with four wins from their final six home games, Eddie Howe will be targeting a return to winning ways for his team in front of their supporters this weekend.

AFC Bournemouth Team News

Junior Stanislas (hernia) and Callum Wilson (cruciate ligament) are both missing for Bournemouth this weekend. Ryan Fraser (ankle) is a doubt.

Brighton & Hove Albion Preview

It was a landmark day at the Amex Stadium for Brighton and Hove Albion last Saturday, as the club secured their first Premier League victory at home to West Bromwich Albion. Pascal Gross proved to be the hero of the day, as the German opened the scoring with a composed finish from Markus Suttner’s cross. Gross then doubled their lead with an effort from range, before crossing for Tomer Hemed, who headed in at the near post. James Morrison pulled back a late consolation for the Baggies, who rarely threatened what looked an organised Brighton defence. In all competitions, Brighton are now unbeaten in their last three matches coming into this weekend and will take confidence from the point earned away to Watford before the international break. However, the Seagulls haven’t won against Bournemouth since January 2008 at the Withdean Stadium in League One, a 3-2 victory, when an Alex Revell hat-trick sealed the win for Dean Wilkins’ side.

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News

Steve Sidwell (back) and Biram Kayal (leg) are both ruled out for Brighton, while Bruno (back), Gaetan Bong (muscle) and Izzy Brown (hamstring) are all doubts. Sam Baldock (calf) is back in training.
