AFC Bournemouth vs Brighton & Hove Albion Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Bournemouth’s horrendous run extended even further with the team slipping to a 2-0 defeat against Wolves at the Molineux Stadium. Raul Jimenez was able to come up with an opener after just 12 minutes on the clock to hand a major blow for Bournemouth, who did dominate possession. However, Ivan Cavaleiro’s late goal confirmed the defeat for Eddie Howe’s men, who went on to exit the League Cup after a 1-0 defeat against Chelsea. Brighton lost back-to-back games in the league after a 2-1 loss against Chelsea last weekend. A strong 60 minutes from Maurizio Sarri’s men was confirmed by goals from Pedro and Eden Hazard. Brighton did come back into the match through Solomon March’s goal in the 66th minute, but there was not to be an equaliser.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Brighton have lost back-to-back games but there is little reason to fault with the Seagulls when it comes to performances. The same cannot be said about Bournemouth, who have been disastrous on a number of aspects. Eddie Howe’s team lack confidence coming into the game and even home games do not provide much of a help for the team. Brighton are capable of holding Bournemouth to a stalemate, which would be my pick for this match.

Bournemouth have been unable to get a goal in the last three matches across all competitions. Callum Wilson will undoubtedly be affected by the transfer rumours, while Brighton have averaged less than a goal per away match this season. I would pick under 2.5 goals in the game.

AFC Bournemouth Preview

Eddie Howe is under an incredible amount of pressure which has gone unnoticed due to the overwhelming focus on bigger aspects in the Premier League like the form of Manchester United. A run of seven defeats in eight matches would have seen any manager lose his job in this division, but Howe remains in his role looking to get the club back among winning ways. Howe has a team which is suffering from a major dip in confidence. One of the few positives for the Cherries happens to be the form of Callum Wilson, who is now subject to interest from the likes of Chelsea.

AFC Bournemouth Team News

Simon Francis (groin), Adam Smith (knee), Dan Gosling (knee), and Lewis Cook (cruciate ligament) are unavailable due to injuries.

Brighton & Hove Albion Preview

Chris Hughton will feel relatively pleased with the performances and results of his Brighton team over the last month. The Seagulls have done well to stay clear of the relegation battle so far, but the team needs to keep getting points in order to avoid being sucked into the battle. After having been heavily dependent on Glen Murray for most of the goals this season, Hughton will be happy to see Florin Andone step up and come in with some positive performances of late.

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News

Alireza Jahanbakhsh (hamstring), Soufyan Ahannach (broken leg), and Jose Izquierdo (knee) are missing some action due to injuries while Shane Duffy is missing from action due to suspension.
