AFC Bournemouth vs Arsenal Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Bournemouth have suffered back-to-back losses after a 2-1 defeat against Newcastle United at St James’ Park. Salomon Rondon provided Newcastle with the lead after just seven minutes and this seemed to lift the home team, who scored just before half-time through Rondon. Even though Jefferson Lerma was able to get one back for Bournemouth just before half-time, it was not sufficient for a comeback. Arsenal were able to salvage a 1-1 draw against Wolves at the Emirates Stadium. Ivan Cavaleiro put the visitors ahead after just 13 minutes and Wolves certainly deserved this lead for much of the game before Henrikh Mkhitaryan came up with the equaliser four minutes before normal time.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Arsenal have been unable to win in the last two trips to the Vitality Stadium. Bournemouth are desperate to recover from a two-game losing streak. The Cherries have played extremely well this season but they have been quite unlucky in recent matches. Meanwhile, Arsenal may not be a confident outfit coming into this match after being involved in a string of stalemates. There is no reason to expect another draw in this game with both teams closely matched on several fronts.

This is a game between two teams that have been rich in terms of goals from the start of the campaign. It is no wonder that only five goals separate Arsenal and Bournemouth on the goalscoring charts this season. In such a situation, I would end up backing both teams to score along with over 2.5 goals.

AFC Bournemouth Preview

Eddie Howe did extremely well to put Bournemouth in a position to challenge for the top five places, but the team is yet to develop the knack of getting success even when not playing well. The back-to-back losses against Manchester United and Newcastle United still keep Bournemouth only four points away from Arsenal, but momentum may have been taken away from the Cherries. The goalscoring form of the team depends heavily on a handful of players like Callum Wilson, who has six league goals so far this season.

AFC Bournemouth Team News

Joshua King (ankle), Asmir Begovic (hand), Jefferson Lerma (hamstring), Adam Smith (knee), and Junior Stanislas (groin) are the players missing from action for Bournemouth.

Arsenal Preview

Arsenal are going through the first wobble since the back-to-back defeats at the start of the campaign. The Gunners have drawn three consecutive games in the Premier League while they have managed just one win – against lower league Blackpool in the League Cup – in the last five games. Unai Emery needs to get the team back on winning ways soon, as the festive period of fixtures are soon upon us. The injury to Danny Welbeck is a major blow for Arsenal, as it leaves heavy pressure on Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The latter is the top scorer at Arsenal with seven league goals.

Arsenal Team News

Danny Welbeck (broken ankle), Nacho Monreal (hamstring), Konstantinos Mavropanos (groin), and Stephan Lichtsteiner (hamstring) are unavailable due to injuries.
