ADO Den Haag vs Ajax Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

ADO Den Haag and Ajax will be facing each other at the Cars Jeans Stadion on Sunday at lunchtime, with both teams looking to build on their recent victories in the Eredivisie. ADO Den Haag managed a narrow 1-2 win on the road at Willem II last time out thanks to a brace from Nasser El Khayati. Meanwhile, Ajax picked up a comfortable 3-0 home victory over PEC Zwolle thanks to a brace from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and another goal from Hakim Ziyech. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news and match stats all in our SBAT preview.

Betting Predictions and Tips

Ajax have enjoyed a much better run of form than ADO Den haag in this early part of the season, but the hosts have been a decent side on home soil over the past few months. Meanwhile, Ajax haven’t been that good on the road over the past seven months, winning just four of their last 15 away games across all competitions. I think that Ajax are more than capable to win here, but I’m not fancying goals as four of the last six meetings between these two sides have seen few than three goals scored.

ADO Den Haag Preview

ADO Den Haag have finally won their first victory of the new Eredivisie season last weekend as they beat Willem II 1-2 away from home. Prior to this clash, ADO were on a three-game losing streak in the Eredivisie, conceding at least two goals in each of these. This leaves them only in 14th position in the Eredivisie table with three points under their belts after four rounds, just three points clear of the bottom three. Scoring has been ADO’s main issue throughout this early part of the season as they only bagged three goals in four games. Nasser El Khayati netted a brace last weekend and he is now ADO’s topscorer with two goals under his belt after two league appearances. The bad news is that ADO have suffered defeats in their both home league fixtures this season, conceding at least two goals in each of these. ADO were a strong side at home towards the end of the last Eredivisie season, having won four and draw two of their last six home league games. The bad news is that ADO Den Haag are winless in the last six home meetings with Ajax in the Eredivisie, losing four in the process.

ADO Den Haag Team News

Indy Groothuizen and Nick Kuipers are both doubts ahead of this tie.

Ajax Preview

Ajax, on the flip side, lost 2-1 on the road at Heracles on the opening day of the new Eredivisie campaign, but bounced back with three consecutive victories. The Amsterdammers looked impressive going forward over the past month, having scored at least two goals in each of their most recent three games in the Eredivisie. The summer signing Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Hakim Ziyech have both been in great shape in this early part of the season, as the pair bagged six goals and two assists between them. Vaclav Cerny has also played a pivotal role in Ajax’s performance so far this season, providing two assists for the team in three league appearances. The Amsterdammers are amongst five sides in the Eredivisie to have picked up nine points from their opening four rounds, but they find themselves only in third spot in the standings, three points behind the current leaders Feyenoord. Ajax are the in-form team in this tie, but the worrying fact is that they have struggled for consistency on the road over the past seven months. They have only won four of their last 15 away games across all competitions, including a 0-2 victory at Venlo in their most recent league trip.

Ajax Team News

Abdelhak Nouri, Mateusz Gorski, Maximilian Wober and Norbert Alblas are all doubts ahead of this trip.
