Aberdeen vs Hamilton Academical Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Aberdeen were able to come away from a midweek SPL match against Ross County with a 4-2 win. First-half goals from Kenny McLean and Adam Rooney (2) put Aberdeen in a comfortable position. The former added a fourth goal for Aberdeen in the second half, while Alex Schalk’s late brace provided a respectable look to the score. Hamilton fell to a 2-1 defeat against Dundee at home. An own goal Mark O’Hara managed to put Hamilton in front after just two minutes. The decisive point in the game came in the 74th minute with David Templeton being sent off for a second yellow card. Matthew Henvey and AJ Leitch-Smith scored late on hand the away team a crucial victory.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

The recent form for Aberdeen has been extremely good. The club have been winning at both halves in seven out of the last eight games against Hamilton, who come into this match after being in a losing position at both halves in two of their last six games. There is a high probability of Aberdeen succeeding in both halves considering their recent form. I would choose the same outcome.

The recent couple of matches have seen Aberdeen hit excellent scoring form – 11 goals in the last four games. At the same time, Hamilton have been quite poor at the back with the team almost conceding two goals per game over the last six SPL matches. I see tremendous value in choosing Aberdeen to score more than 2.5 goals.

Aberdeen win at half-time and full-time – 1/1

Aberdeen to score over 2.5 goals – 13/8

Aberdeen scored over 2.5 goals in 5 out of their last 10 games played

Hamilton Academical saw over 1.5 goals in 8 out of their last 10 games played

Aberdeen Preview

Aberdeen come into this match on the back of a spirited run of form, which has seen the club get back-to-back victories in the Scottish Premier League. As a result, the club have been able to overtake Rangers into the second spot. Aberdeen are also showing signs of benefiting from the positive improvement in the January transfer window, which saw the arrival of players like Nial McGinn and Kenny McLean. Aberdeen have come up with eight goals in the last six matches. Even now, the home form is the key factor behind Aberdeen’s push for a top two finish. Adam Rooney is the top scorer with eight goals.

Aberdeen Team News

Joe Lewis (knee) and Stevie May (knee) are the injury concerns for Aberdeen.

Hamilton Academical Preview

Hamilton enter into the match with a disappointing run of form which will act as a motivation for the likes of Partick Thistle and Ross County at the bottom places of the SPL 2017-18 table. A key factor behind the struggles is the defensive performance, which sees Hamilton as the second worst defensive outfit in the league over the last six matches after conceding 12 goals. As a result, Hamilton are slowly creeping up in terms of the goals conceded. Partick Thistle and Ross County are the two outfits with a poor defensive record than Martin Canning’s team. Dougie Imrie and Rakish Bingham are the top scorers with four goals each.

Hamilton Academical Team News

Hamilton manager Martin Canning is only without Giannis Skondras due to suspension.
