The race for the Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has hotted up with many clubs looking to be interested in the French international. Everton are one of those clubs and have been rejected a £19 million bid for the player. West Brom are another side interested in the player and have already had a £18 million pound bid turned down.

Manchester United paid £24 million pounds for Schneiderlin back in 2014 to draw him away from Southampton, and by the looks of things they are trying to get back what they paid.

Everton will be very keen on bringing in a new holding midfielder in the January transfer window, as they look set to lose Idrissa Gueye to the African Cup of Nations throughout the month and also have a lot of injuries in that department with the likes of James McCarthy struggling with ongoing injuries.

Former Everton defender Alan Stubbs looks keen on the prospect of Everton signing the current United star saying this about him: He’s the type of player Everton are looking for to enhance the squad. He’s gone to United, and not really had the playing time that he would have liked to have got.’

‘His form at Southampton was very good, which led to him getting the move. He would be a really good addition to Everton. Obviously, they’ve made an opening bid, everybody knows that Everton have got the money to spend and I think this could be a busy transfer window for them.’

Ligue 1 side Marseille are also interested in the player which could turn the head of Morgan, going back to his home nation. However, the Premier League has been the place where he has made himself known, and that may keep him in England.

Former Arsenal star Ray Parlour has come out praising Schneiderlin stating ‘Whoever gets him, it’s a very good signing’.
