When Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid in the summer, it was time for someone else to take over the reigns as their number one driving force. Many thought this paved the way for Gareth Bale to steal the show in Madrid, although this hasn't happened and there is talks of Bale leaving the club this summer. Karim Benzema has been a big help to them, aiding their comeback from what was a dreadful start to the season, but it is another player catching the eye playing alongside him.

Vinicius Junior has emerged as a potential candidate to lead Real Madrid forward and win trophies for them, and since arriving at the club just days after Ronaldo's departure in the summer, he has done nothing but impress. He really caught the eye in the Copa del Rey game against Barcelona in midweek, which brought even more attention and excitement to him.

At just 18 year old he is clearly one for the future and someone that is only going to get better with age, which makes his current play even more special. There is an air of expectation surrounding him when he gets the ball that you only get from the very best players. People expect him to do things on the ball, and they are looking for fireworks, if Vinicius Junior can handle the pressure that comes with being the main man in Madrid, they could have a very special talent on their hands.

Real Madrid return to Champions League action next week, with a trip to Ajax. As the current holders they are fancied to go well in this competition, although they have not been playing too well this season to show they are genuine contenders for the title once again. Madrid are the favourites for Wednesday's game, despite being in Ajax and they are priced up at 19/20 to take home a valuable lead, with Ajax available at 13/5 to record a home win in the first leg.
