You can forget league positions right now, there is no doubt surrounding who is the form team in the Championship, and that is Aston Villa. They beat Millwall 1-0 at the weekend, securing a place in the playoffs and also breaking a club record with 10 consecutive wins. There is no doubt that Villa are flying high, and with the playoff coming up shortly, they are doing it at exactly the right time.

It is likely that Villa will play rivals West Brom in the playoffs, although home advantage will still be determined by the games between now and the end of the season. It is currently held by West Brom, but with the way Villa are playing, they have every chance of leapfrogging them and taking control. After the disappointment of missing out last season, these players look hungry for success and right now, they would have to be considered favourites to win the playoffs based on how well they are playing.

Just two league games remain for them and they would love to continue this winning run into the playoffs. While a defeat would not mean too much to their position, it would be a blow and take them off the run they are currently on. This looks to be a team going places, and if they can win their next two games then it would take a brave man to back against them in the playoffs.

Up next for Villa is a very tough task and that is a trip to face Leeds at Elland Road. Leeds are up in 3rd and desperately trying to get automatic promotion, although they have lost their last two games. Despite that, Leeds are the 3/4 favourites to win the game on Sunday, while Villa can be backed at 17/5 and the draw is available at 3/1 in what should be a very good game between two very good teams.
