United Continue to Struggle Under Ole
The form of Manchester United when under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as a temporary boss compared how they have played under him as full time boss has been massively different. As full time boss he has struggled to get his team hitting the same heights they showed under his temporary care, and he appears to have a huge task on to turn things around.
United have lost six of their last eight games, their worst run of the season, and their most recent defeat was a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Everton at Goodison Park. This is simply not good enough for United, but the majority of the blame appears to be with the players, and not Solskjaer, at least according to the fans anyway.
Solskjaer said as much during his press conference after the game against Everton, accusing many of his players of lacking the Manchester United DNA needed to succeed at this club. You get the feeling that if the board allow it to happen, and they give Solskjaer the funds to make it happen, we could be seeing wholesale changes at United this summer, and an interesting period certainly awaits the club and its fans.
Things couldn't get much tougher for United as their next game comes on Wednesday, when they host rivals Manchester City. With City looking to win another league title, United will be happy just to compete with how their season is going right now, and the betting odds on the game certainly reflect that. Despite being at home, United are priced up at 6/1 to win the game, while Manchester City can be backed at 4/9 and are strong favourites.
