Tottenham pulled off the almost impossible last night in the Champions League. The North London club took a 1-0 lead to the Etihad for their clash with Manchester City, but despite holding onto that, many thought this would be a comfortable success for City. However, in what was a thrilling game with seven goals and two big VAR decisions, it was Tottenham that eventually came out on top.

The game began at a frantic pace, with five goals scored in the first 20 minutes of the game, giving Manchester City a 3-2 lead on the night. They needed more though as that gave Tottenham the away goal advantage in the game. The second half was not as free flowing, but City eventually took the lead in the tie through Sergio Aguero, making it 4-2 on the night and 4-3 on aggregate.

Then came the huge talking points. Firstly a Tottenham goal for Fernando Llorente, which was reviewed by VAR for handball. The goal stood, it wasn't handball and we were back to Tottenham winning the tie. Then in the final couple of minutes, a goal for Manchester City through Raheem Sterling which sent the Etihad and the City players and coaching staff wild. That was all silenced with news that VAR was reviewing the play, and eventually offside was given, stunning City, and putting Tottenham back in the driving seat. That is how things ended on a thrilling night in Manchester.

Spurs are now into the semi finals and will face Ajax in the next round, with the other semi final tie being played between Barcelona and Liverpool. Tottenham are priced up at 7/2 to win the Champions League, and it is Barcelona that have now taken over as favourites, they are available at 6/4
