The Premier League Relegation Race
The teams down at the bottom of the relegation zone have just a few games left to try and ensure their Premier League survival. The race to stay away from relegation is between five teams, unless something huge happens, and there is just one place left the avoid. This is of the assumption that both Huddersfield and Fulham are already going down which looks highly likely. It is also based on Newcastle remaining clear, they have done well in recent weeks to move out of it, and they are now seven points clear of the relegation zone, which is a lot at this stage of the season.
Cardiff are the team in trouble right now, holding onto the last remaining relegation spot with 28 points on the board. Burnley and Southampton are ahead of them and within touching distance, they both have 30 points so just one game can swing things around for those two. Burnley have played a game more than the other two, so things are not in their own hands just yet, if Cardiff win that game they go above them.
Crystal Palace and Brighton are a further three points clear with 33 on the board and although things are looking good for them, they are not quite out of it yet and they have to keep battling. A good couple of results after the international break would seal their safety though and move them far enough away from the drop zone.

The bookmakers thing the league will stay the same as it is now with regards to who will be relegated. Cardiff are 4/11 and currently hold onto the last relegation spot going into the international games. However, they do have a game in hand over Burnley, who are priced up at 11/4 and certainly looking over their shoulder. With 16/1 and above available on the other teams, the bookmakers are putting this one down as a two horse race already.
